As you may know, EPCOT is set to receive an all-new fireworks show celebrating the power of music — Harmonious.

The show was supposed to initially debut in the spring of 2020 but has seen a delay due to the historic park closures. We haven’t heard a new reopening date, but we’ve been keeping a close eye on EPCOT fireworks’ progress. Now, we have a pretty BIG sign that could be a step in the direction of the return of fireworks in EPCOT and the rest of Disney World.
Thanks to one of our readers (thanks @kellielizabethharris!), we heard that guests at Disney’s Riviera Resort were sent this push notification from the My Disney Experience app tonight. It notes that “There will be a fireworks test at EPCOT with brief noise impacts. Testing will conclude prior to midnight.”

This is exciting news considering fireworks have been unavailable since the reopening of Disney World AND EPCOT is expecting the new Harmonious nighttime spectacular. We’re not sure whether this testing is related to the upcoming show or it’s a protocol for safely viewing fireworks in a reopened Disney World, but either way, it’s progress!

Disney won’t have fireworks til next year by the earliest
NC-Dad, fireworks didn’t, the close prosimity of people watching did. I am glad they waited. But I can’t wait to see the new show!!!!
