A NEW Disney movie recently dropped in theaters.

The somewhat controversial live-action Snow White hit movie theaters after months of previews and news stories, and it didn’t perform particularly well at the box office. But if you’ve been waiting for the movie to hit streaming to watch, when can you expect it on Disney+? We’re looking at the data.
Disney hasn’t yet announced a date for when Snow White will be available to stream, but we can somewhat extrapolate based on data from the last 7 Disney movies released in theaters. Let’s take a look at those dates.

Mufasa — In theaters on December 20th, 2024; On Disney+ March 26th, 2025
Moana 2 — In theaters on November 27th, 2024; On Disney+ March 12th, 2025
Inside Out 2 — In theaters on June 14th, 2024; On Disney+ September 25th, 2024
Wish — In theaters on November 22nd, 2023; On Disney+ April 3rd, 2024
The Marvels — In theaters on November 10th, 2023; On Disney+ February 7th, 2024
Haunted Mansion — In theaters on July 28th, 2023; On Disney+ October 4th, 2023
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny — In theaters on June 30th, 2023; On Disney+ December 1st, 2023

There’s a little bit of a trend here. Most of the films hit Disney+ about 3 months after their release, with the exception of three: Moana 2, Wish, and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The first two in that list were likely movies that Disney was hoping would perform well at the box office, with Moana 2 being a sequel to an incredibly popular princess movie, and with Wish as an original animated film released for the company’s 100th anniversary. That’s likely why they were given an extra month’s delay.

But with Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Disney waited five months to stream the film. It’s possible that they were expecting big box office numbers since the movie was joining a major franchise, or perhaps the later release was before Disney+ got its formula down pat. Either way, that one seems to be an outlier in our data.

Ultimately, it looks like we’ll be waiting 3-4 months before Snow White comes to Disney+. The movie was released on March 21st, 2025, in theaters, so we can probably expect it to stream sometime in June or July. The real question is — will it be at the end of that window because Disney expected it to perform well, or will the studio have predicted it to be a box office “flop?”
