Disney World is a busy place!

Welcome to Disney World!
There is a lot of change happening in the parks right now. Magic Kingdom has some major upcoming changes, the Muppets are moving in Hollywood Studios, and the Iguanadon is packing her bags. While those are some pretty major changes coming in the future, there are some smaller updates that might impact your Disney trip starting next month!
The Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course is getting a bit of an update! The putt-putt spot located by Blizzard Beach will begin a phased refurbishment from April 28th until June 16th, 2025. This fun activity is overlooked by most Disney World guests but we have a kinda weird obsession with it!

Winter Summerland Mini Golf
The mini golf spot has two sides that guests can enjoy, the Winter course and the Summer course! The entire spot is themed to a Very Merry Vacation spot because Santa Clause designed it. According to Disney, Santa discovered the snow in Florida (Blizzard Beach) so he decided to build a vacation destination for his elves. It was split into two sides so they could choose if they wanted warm or cold weather.

Winter Summerland Mini Golf
While the mini golf course is undergoing this major refurbishment, it won’t be completely closed for those two months! The course will continue to operate with only one side open at a time so guests can still enjoy the friendly competition that is vacation putt-putt.

Winter Summerland Course
During the refurbishment, you won’t be able to reserve tee times (however, we don’t really consider that a necessity anyway.) Now most people are skipping the putt putt during their Disney vacation, and we get that, but this is a great activity for families who are having a break from the parks or want something fun to do before your Disney Springs dinner.

Holiday Decorations at the course!
If you really need a spot with two 18-hole putt-putt courses open simultaneously, you can always check out Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf. It’s also a miniature golf option in Disney World located near the Swan and Dolphin Resort. These courses feature more Disney themeing and fun interactive elements, but you can’t go wrong with either option.

This is just one of a few updates happening around Disney World that could impact your trip! As always, make sure to keep following DFB for more Disney World news and updates.

We love Winter Summerland (and we’d strongly recommend reservations, especially if you want to be sure to play at a particular time :)! It’s a great thing to do on your first day (if you’re not early enough to make it worth heading to the parks), on a ‘switching resorts’ day, a ‘rest’ day, or check out day (provided you have the time to kill)! It’s so cute, full of great photo ops.
They reaaally need to give some attention and love to Fantasia Gardens. We went last year and it was super run down, a few features not working. Excited to finally give Winter Summerland a shot later this year though!
Its our go to if we want a day away from the parks
With all of the closures and refurbishment going on, perhaps, it would serve Disney as well as the guests in general best, if Disney just closed until everything was done!
