Disney is our home away from home!

Magic Kingdom
Being close to Magic Kingdom, enjoying the hotel perks, and being there for all of the new things coming to the parks is so special. If you’re anything like us and want Disney to be your home (officially), this latest sale on Disney Vacation Club Memberships might be the thing for you!
Have you ever wanted to become a Disney Vacation Club Member? The Disney Vacation Club, better known as the DVC, is essentially Disney’s timeshare service. You can buy a membership that gives you so many points per year that you can use for your Disney hotel stays.

The EPCOT DVC lounge!
Disney says that the DVC memberships allow you to get “future vacations at today’s purchase price.” Unlike traditional timeshares, the DVC doesn’t require you to choose one specific resort that you always stay in. While you can select a “home resort”, you also have flexibility when using your annual points so you can change plans as they come. While the DVC is a really neat opportunity for many, it’s not a secret that it’s pretty pricey so if you’ve been wanting to get in on the fun, this new offer might be for you!

Of course, it’s only the resorts that aren’t that great. The island towers are bare and the Riviera is not really a Disney resort feel, more like a Marriott in Europe. Give me animal Kingdom Lodge or wilderness Lodge and you have a deal. I’ll continue to use dvc rental store.
We bought DVC at HHI in 1996 for $67/point. At that time the minimum buy-in was 230 points. A couple years later we bought another 50 points at less than $100/point. We have used our points to create amazing memories with friends and families over the years and never regretted our investment. We are now in our 60s and continue to make trips to both South Carolina and Florida. We love DVC.
Yeah Jaz! Although we actually purchased our DVC through resale. Best decision! My sister bought through Disney and really we’re not missing out on much. Not at all! We get all the same resorts other than Riviera – not interested to NON -Disney, new Poly tower – stay at Aulani once and this new tower is about as exciting to stay at as a mid higher end typical hotel, really no Polynesian immersion, not like the actual Poly Resort, use of DVC lounges, which are truly laughable, I enjoy just sitting on a bench or relax inside the plenty of indoor sitting areas.
Point is I have 200 points, and paid $11,200. That’s it. My sister 150 points and not even close to what I paid.
