Well, it seems like Disney Villains are about to be getting a LOT of love in Disney World, and NOT just during Halloween.
Cruella de Vil
Not only is Disney World bringing an entirely new Villains-themed land to Magic Kingdom, but this summer, a brand new Villains-themed show, Disney Villains: Unhappily Ever After, will debut in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As we learned in Descendants 3, “It’s Good To Be Bad.” So which villains can we expect to see during the show? Well, some concept art COULD give us an idea — warning: it’s a LOT.
So Disney recently revealed new details about Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. The show revolves around the premise that the Magic Mirror has summoned some of Disney’s most wicked characters who will break through the glass and tell us why we’ve misunderstood them all along. “In the end, it will be on you to make the final call in a delightfully wicked finale filled with dozens of the most infamous evildoers awaiting your decision from within the Mirror’s realm.”

Disney also released some new concept art detailing the villains we could see in the show. Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent have already been confirmed, but the new concept art has a LOT more villains, including some of the more obscure villains.

So we’re going to do what we do and try to break down that artwork to see just how many villains this show could potentially have (like how LONG is this show, by the way? Because there is a LOT here). On the right side of the new art, we see the following villains: Pain and Panic, the Sheriff of Nottingham, the hyenas, Edgar Balthazar, Yokai, Captain Gantu, Prince John, Hopper, King Candy, Madame Medusa, Frollo, Mother Gothel, Gaston, Hades, Dr. Facilier, Clayton, and Governor Ratcliffe.

So in the middle, we have the following villains: Lucifer, Creeper, Flotsam and Jetsam, Kaa, Ursula, Duke of Weselton, John Silver, Smee, Iago, Chernabog, Dr. Hämsterviel, Helga Sinclair, Shere Khan, Commander Lyle Tiberius Rourke, and Honest John. On stage, we have the previously-mentioned villains Captain Hook, Cruella De Vil, and Maleficent.

Whew…we’re not done yet, though. Because on the other side, we’ve got Scar, Wicked Stepmother, Jafar, Red Queen, Yzma, Kakamora, Prince Hans, Joanna, King Magnifico, Bowler Hat Guy, Jaspar and Horace, Percival C. McLeach, Madame Mim, Professor Ratigan, Dawn Bellweather, and the Horned King.

One glaring omission, though, is the owner of the Magic Mirror, the Evil Queen — did Disney leave her out on purpose? Or is she going to be some kind of special surprise during the show? We won’t know. But for now, our total count of villains comes to a whopping 57. Is Disney really going to bring 57 baddies together in this show somehow? That would be EPIC.
Of course, we won’t know for sure until the show debuts this summer, and we’ll be there on DAY ONE covering it, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
