There are lots of things to love about the Disney World water parks: it is hard to beat a day relaxing by the water, plunging down water rides, and grabbing unlimited refills in your refillable mug. To know Disney World refillable mugs is to love Disney World refillable mugs. Well, for the most part, we still have some complaints about the mug. But it is wonderful to be able to refill your mug to your heart’s content while relaxing in your beach chair.
We have some bad news if you are a refillable cup fan like us, though. There is now one less location where you can find refillable mugs. The good news is that the mugs are still available at the Disney World hotels, but you currently CAN’T get them at the Disney World water parks.
Typhoon Lagoon has officially reopened in Disney World! It reopened on May 1st, as Blizzard Beach closed for a short refurbishment. However, BOTH water parks will be open at the same time beginning May 21st. We are checking out the newly reopened Typhoon Lagoon and came across some not-so-great news.
The classic refillable mugs we have grown to know and love are currently unavailable at Typhoon Lagoon. We loved grabbing one of these mugs and enjoying refills all day long! Beyond the Disney World hotels, the water parks were the only location where the refillable mugs were available. However, it seems that mugs will only be available at the hotels, at least for now.
The refillable mugs could be purchased at the water parks, and you can refill them for free throughout the day. It was a great way to stay hydrated and not spend tons of money. Refillable mugs are also available at Disney World hotels and can be purchased for the length of your stay, or you can get them included in a Disney Dining Plan.
We also noticed some soda machines closed off near Happy Landings, and when we spoke with a Cast Member, they said that there had been an issue with bees before, and that was likely why the machines were closed off. Another Cast Member also agreed with the bees but also thought there was more to the soda machines being taken away.
We do have some good news, though. While the classic refillable mugs aren’t currently available, we did spot a Miss Tilly Sipper Cup that you can grab, which includes refills at Typhoon Lagoon quick-service locations for the entire day, according to Mobile Order in the Disney World app. It costs $22.49. It is not as easy to carry around as the refillable mugs, but it could be an option if you were looking forward to refills.
When we spoke with a Cast Member, they weren’t sure if Blizzard Beach would also follow suit with getting rid of the refillable mugs, but it was definitely a possibility. There are also no guarantees that this is a permanent change, and refillable mugs could return in the future. However, for now, if you are hoping to grab a classic refillable mug, you will need to get it from your Disney World hotel.

We will be getting one each when staying at pop century next week. Yts ago they were not much money then 25 yrs later went back they want more than 20.00 for one. In 2022 we brought insolated ones with cover along. At all restaurants. Quick service they will give you free water in paper cup. We put it in cups we brought
Also one park has free soda you can get as much as you want. I did want 100 or cup found at goodwill alsoatching popcorn bucket 1.99 each
I line of perks of getting beach comber shack premium was the refillable mugs was included. Currently it still is listed as a perk. I hope so we have one reserved for June/July
We’re going to Volcano Bay instead.
Does this mean you cant use a refillable mug at Typhoon Lagoon? We will have dining plan and are going there on the Tuesday we check into Polynesian. I was thinking I would bring the mugs but if they aren’t allowed then I don’t want to waste the effort.
So are hotel mugs allowed at Typhoon Lagoon?
The decisions Disney makes continue to surprise us although it shouldn’t. Raising prices and removing perks has been there thing. They only respond when being pushed by universal. Look at all the discounts and deals they have released so far this year because of pressure from Epic. Shows and parades aren’t enough. The new rides and attractions won’t be here for at least 4 more years and yet they continue to remove things that benefit the guest. It boggles my mind.
Just another way for you to drain your wallet.
I just purchased one at blizzard beach last week. We refilled it several times.
