We’re warning you about an upcoming Disney World refurbishment that could throw a wrench in your 2026 vacation plans.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

The Disney World hotels are no strangers to long closures due to repairs, refurbishments, and improvements. That trend is continuing in 2026, as one brief refurbishment project will affect 4 different hotels in January 2026.

According to the Disney World website, the Disney Skyliner will be CLOSED for refurbishment between January 25th and January 31st, 2026.

The Skyliner connects 4 hotels — Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort — to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

While these four hotels will be primarily affected by the closures, it’s also worth noting that Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn are all within walking distance of the Skyliner station at EPCOT’s International Gateway.

While the Skyliner won’t be operational those days, Disney did note that complimentary bus service will still be available. Still, a major draw of the Skyliner hotels is quick and easy access to this gondola system, so if you plan to visit at Disney World in late January, you’ll want to take this refurbishment into consideration when selecting which hotel you’re staying at.
