If you’re heading to EPCOT this year, make sure to familiarize yourself with the latest policy changes at Disney’s second park.
Whether it’s how to approach EPCOT’s newest – – and busiest – – attraction or some of the park’s most popular restaurants, being aware of these procedures is the best way to maximize a day at EPCOT.
Rope-Dropping Cosmic Rewind
From the moment Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind first opened in 2022, the only way to access the indoor coaster attraction without purchasing an individual Lightning Lane was to score a spot in the virtual queue. However, that changed on February 25th, when the attraction shifted to a traditional queue.
Ever since, the attraction has routinely topped the list of Disney World’s highest average weekly wait, with times well over an hour. Meaning if you want to make sure you’re able to experience the MCU-based E-Ticket, it may be wise to get over the attraction ASAP upon park arrival. Speaking of which…
Skyliner Convenience vs Cosmic Rewind Distance
Over much of the last decade, the Disney Skyliner has become massively popular amongst Walt Disney World guests traveling to EPCOT from the hotels on the Skyliner route (Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach Resort, and the Riviera Resort).
However, EPCOT’s Skyliner station is located at the International Gateway, all the way on the other side park from Cosmic Rewind. Meaning, those arriving by Skyliner have. Much longer journey to the attraction. So, if you’re planning to rope-drop Cosmic Rewind first thing in the morning, you might want to arrive at EPCOT’s front entrance, even if it means forsaking the Skyliner for a day.
Cancelation Policies
For most Walt Disney World restaurants, the cancelation policy for most Walt Disney World restaurants is that a reservation may be canceled up to 2 hours in advance with no charge or penalty, and a $10 per person charge if it’s canceled with less than 2 hours notice or if the part never shows up.
However, three of EPCOT’s most popular dining experiences are among those on property with different policies:
- La Cava Experience: Cancelations must be made at least one day in advance to avoid being charged $50 per person.
- Monsieur Paul: Cancelations must be made at least three days in advance to avoid being charged $100 per person.
- Takumi-Tei: Cancelations must be made at least two days in advance to avoid being charged $100 per person.

Unfortunately I have painful back problems that I have to walk and sit after 20 minutes. I am too young to have a problem like this.
If you are staying in one of the skyliner resorts and going to EPCOT, your transportation options are the skyliner or drive. Buses are not an option, there were signs at the bus stop in front of AoA & Pop directing you to the skyliner
It’s important to note that hotels that have the Skyliner do not run busses to Epcot if the Skyliner is running… you’ll have to get a bus to a different location and then a bus or monorail to Epcot if you want to enter by the front gate and don’t have private transportation. Allow extra time!
