Snagging dining reservations for your Disney World vacation can be a STRUGGLE.
If you’re using the Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app, you’ll need to book your restaurants 60 days before your trip, and some locations fill up fast. It can be frustrating to plan so far in advance and not be able to snag your preferred spots, so that’s why we’re here to tell you about a very important app!
While most restaurants in Disney World can only be booked through My Disney Experience or the Disney World website, some non-Disney-owned restaurants can be booked through other avenues. A great resource for this is the website/app OpenTable!
OpenTable is a popular reservation service for metropolitan areas around the country, and some outside-owned restaurants in Disney World are available to book through the service. We’ve found that occasionally, when these restaurants are out of availability in Disney’s system, they still have time slots open for that very same day on OpenTable.
So which restaurants can you book on OpenTable? First of all, you’ve got the Disney Springs bunch, which includes Summer House on the Lake, Jaleo, City Works, Wolfgang Puck, The Edison, Maria & Enzo’s, Frontera Cocina, Planet Hollywood, Raglan Road, Terralina Crafted Italian, Paddlefish, Wine Bar George, Morimoto Asia, and Rainforest Cafe.
If you’re heading to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels, you can book several spots through OpenTable as well. These include Amare, Il Mulino, and Kimonos.
Outside of those, there are several other assorted restaurants on OpenTable. You’ll find The Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk, Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom, as well as dining locations at the Four Seasons Orlando, JW Marriott, and a few of the Disney Springs area hotels’ restaurants.
But not only is OpenTable a great resource for snagging dining reservations, it’s also a great way to get the quick guide to these Disney World restaurants. Each restaurant’s page on OpenTable includes the restaurant’s rating, popular menu items, price range, and details like the hours of operation, the address, and even the dress code. Handy, right?!
So the next time you’re trying to decide where to dine in Disney World and you’re running out of options on My Disney Experience, try downloading OpenTable and checking out what’s available! You may find a new favorite spot.

What’s your go-to reservation for dinner in Disney World? Tell us in the comments!
We have so many must-dos for table service, it’s impossible to do them all on even our almost impossibly long every-other-year trips now. When you book with Open Table, you can also earn rewards (at least last time I looked you could), and… if you can book the restaurant with Open Table, and there’s any chance you won’t make your dining reservation, at least some of these restaurants do NOT charge a no-show fee if you find out you’re not going to make it within two hours of your reservations (unlike booking through Disney). That is one reason why we tend to book our arrival day and late night DS reservations through Open Table, in case anything goes wrong.
