Let’s be honest, some Disney movies do NOT get enough love at Disney World! Well, we’re finally getting justice for this underrated Disney movie.
Cinderella Castle
If there is any movie we think doesn’t get talked about enough, its gotta be Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove. Like, c’mon, it’s a hilarious movie about a young emperor who gets transformed into a llama — name a better plotline…we’ll wait. The love for this movie has finally arrived, as we’re officially getting Kuzco at Disney World!
We’re sure you’re aware that Destination D23 is coming to Disney World this year. It will be located at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. The exclusive fan event is meant for the biggest Disney fans in the world — filled with sneak peaks, behind the scenes, and first looks at all things Disney. The event will take place on August 29th through to August 31st, and rumour has it, this is set to be the biggest one Disney has hosted yet!

Destination D23 will give fans an exclusive look at all the upcoming things for Disney entertainment, parks, and more! We’re anticipating some huge announcements this year. The weekend will also offer exclusive fan events, which includes:
- Disney ’80s-’90s Celebration in Concert
- The Walt Disney Archives Presents: Charting the Course, Disney’s Global Stories & Inspirations
- Shopping sprees at The Walt Disney Company Store, Mickey’s of Glendale, Disney Studio Store Hollywood, and Ink & Paint Marketplace.

One event we didn’t list had to be discussed on its own, though! Can you guess what it was? BOOM BABY, a Kuzcotopia night! That’s right, Destination D23 will be offering a D23 Kuzcotopia Night at Typhoon Lagoon. The event will take place at the popular water park on Saturday, August 30th.

Anyone who has a Destination D23 ticket will be able to attend the event celebrating 25 years of Disney movie The Emperor’s New Groove. After a full day of presentations, make a splash at the after-hours exclusive party celebration. The event will include special tributes to Disney’s water parks — we can’t wait to learn what that will be like. The event will even include complimentary snacks, photo opportunities, special activities, and exclusive entertainment!
Typhoon Lagoon
As we mentioned, in order to attend the event, you will need to purchase Destination D23 tickets. General admission will cost $299, whereas a limited number of Preferred and Premiere seating tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis with pricing of $549 and $799, respectively. The tickets will include dedicated queues for reserved seating areas. Tickets will go on sale for D23 Gold Members on April 14th at 10 AM PT. For guests who do not get tickets to Destination D23, a limited number of additional tickets will be offered to D23 Gold Members for the Kuzcotopia Night at a later date.

Be aware that Destination D23 tickets are only available to D23 Gold Members! You can purchase a Gold Membership starting at $49.99 per year if you want access to Destination D23 tickets.

How awesome would it be for Disney to announce POTC6 with Johnny Depp returning to the amazing role he created of Captn Jack Sparrow? This will be the best thing that could happen to Disney pictures. They desperately need a win and Johnny Depp and POTC6 is the only way to make it happen. Of course let’s remember that pirates are not woke, progressive or politically correct.
I would love to be able to join a Kuzco OR a POTC themed event at Typhoon Lagoon! (100% agree with LindyLou!) I just can’t spare the time for the D23 events, so hopefully Disney will move in the direction of more of these ticketed events throughout the year.
