It’s a summer miracle! Disney just announced that BOTH water parks will be available this summer.
Double the chances to cool off, enjoy the water rides, and relax by the water. This summer, you will have choices regarding which Disney World water park you want to visit.
That’s right, Disney is kicking only having one water park open to the curb. Beginning May 21st through September 7th, BOTH Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be available for guests.
Currently, Blizzard Beach is open, but beginning May 1st, it will temporarily close while Typhoon Lagoon reopens. However, this time, Blizzard Beach will only be closed for a short time and will reopen on May 21st! Recently, Disney has only had one water park open at a time, but things are changing this summer.
This is also great news if you hope to utilize the free water park access hotel perk. This new perk for 2025 provides you with FREE admission to a Disney World water park on your arrival day if you are staying at a Disney World hotel. Beginning May 21st, you can choose from either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon!

It is about time. Several years ago, both parks were open at the same time. It is purely a utilization of resources and manpower issue. With the theme park attendance falling off, many families are electing to spend more time at the resort pools, and with pool hopping no longer an option, guests are resorting to the water parks to fill the void due to the lower emission price. It’s about time.
And that’s a deal??? What about a drop in ticket prices
