There is no shortage of sweet treats at Disney World’s shopping and dining district, Disney Springs!
Whether you are looking for a giant cookie, DOLE Whip, or some Gelato, Disney Springs is the place to be! We recently stopped by Vivoli il Gelato to try their Waffle Boat Sundae. Yes — you heard that right, BOAT and not bowl!
Vivoli il Gelato is located in the Landing of Disney Springs, and you can also find their mobile cart right between UNIQLO and World of Disney. At their storefront location, you will find more than a dozen flavors of gelato and sorbet, along with biscotti, espresso drinks, tarts, and more! They make their gelato using the same recipes from the original storefront in Florence and even import many ingredients from Italy, like pistachios, hazelnuts, and cocoa powder.
We recently went to try their Waffle Boat Sundae off the House Specials portion of the menu. You can order one scoop for $10.75 or two scoops for $12.25. We splurged on two scoops!
We decided to get a scoop of Peanut Butter and Chocolate Hazelnut, which is a great combination, especially if you are a fan of chocolate peanut butter candy!
Along with the two scoops of gelato, it also came topped with your choice of sauce and whipped cream. We went for the chocolate sauce! The gelato tasted exactly like the description; it was so creamy! We think that the Waffle Boat over a waffle bowl is a pretty fun idea, and as food bloggers, we really appreciated it since it held up and did not get soggy!
While we did like that it held together, it was pretty tricky to eat. The boat was thicker than most waffle cones, but it still tasted similar to one. We ended up having to carefully break off pieces, but it was hard to avoid getting our fingers messy. It is a fun serving dish, but not super practical to eat. It may be a better idea to let your gelato melt a bit to help soften up the Waffle Boat.
Overall, we loved the gelato and think it’s a fun sweet treat. But if you want to try it for yourself, make sure to find a table and a lot of napkins!

We haven’t tried it yet, but always wanted to. We love gelato. Since we tend to visit in January now, it’s rarely warm enough on our DS days for it. But we keep hoping!
