Buckle up Disney fans, because we’ve got a TON of exciting news to share.
Disney recently dropped several announcements about everything from new character experiences, to ride closures, to discounts, and more. We’ve rounded at all up and put it in one handy-dandy place so you don’t have to go searching. There’s a lot to talk about, so let’s get into it!
Disney World just dropped a ton of news about current and upcoming theme park happenings — here’s what you need to know.
Attraction Changes
“The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” (a reimagined version of the “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” show) finally has an official opening date! Beginning on May 27th, 2025, parkgoers will be able to finally see this new show.
Not only that, but you can catch Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After at Disney’s Hollywood Studios beginning on May 27th as well! After the villains share their side of the story, “In the end, it will be on you to make the final call in a delightfully wicked finale filled with dozens of the most infamous evildoers awaiting your decision from within the Mirror’s realm.”
And, get ready, Space Rangers! Changes are coming to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom! Disney has announced that a new show scene, updated ride vehicles, and gameplay enhancements will be coming to this ride sometime in 2026.
In order to make way for these changes, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will close in August.
Discounts and Deals
As of March 27th, you can get a new deal that gets you the Disney Dining Plan for free when you book a Disney World vacation package. You’ll need to book a non-discounted 4-night, 4-day Disney World vacation package that includes a room at select Disney World hotels, as well as a theme park ticket with the Disney Park Hopper option. See all the details here!
Not only that, but Disney just announced that you can purchase a 3-day (or longer) kids (ages 3-9) standard ticket for 50% off. This new deal is available for vacations starting May 27th through September 20th, 2025.
You can also get a 3-day, 3-park ticket starting at $89 per day ($267 total, plus tax) for visits starting on April 6th through September 22nd, 2025. This ticket is for admission to one park per day, including EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It is NOT valid for admission to Magic Kingdom.
And, this summer, you can save up to 30% on select Disney Resort hotel rooms when you stay longer for visits from August 1st through October 11th, 2025. Disney also has a few special deals on rooms for Florida Residents and Annual Passholders.
New Character Experiences
Disney has announced that this summer, select characters will begin their meet and greets inside the parks DURING Early Entry, instead of waiting for the park’s official opening! This is fantastic news for guests who are hoping to meet some of their favorite friends with much shorter lines.
New “kid zones” are coming to the parks! Disney shared that “families should be on the lookout for limited-time experiences perfect for young kids in the theme parks, including kid zones featuring new activities and fun ways to interact with more Disney characters” along with pop-up entertainment offerings, music and dancing, games, and more. So far, we know that there will be one in Storybook Circus and Tomorrowland — featuring Stitch!
