Universal’s Terra Luna Hotel is finally OPEN!
This is one of three hotels near Universal’s new Epic Universe park (and the Helios Grand Hotel is INSIDE the park and will be the final hotel to open!) — we got to visit Universal’s Stella Nova Hotel when it opened earlier this year, and can’t wait to see what this sister hotel has in store. We’re really focusing on the dining options available here, so let’s take a look at what Omega Cafe and Market really has to offer!
Omega Cafe and Market is a quick service location that you can find inside the main lobby area of Terra Luna Hotel. Whether you’re grabbing a quick snack or a full meal, you’ll enjoy a wide variety of made-to-order American classics for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
On the menu, you’ll find tons of different options for a variety of tastebuds, such as burgers, paninis, fried chicken, and pasta.
Atmosphere
Stepping inside, we immediately noticed that this space felt very open and had plenty of seating, which we loved. Not to mention that it’s very easy to spot from the lobby thanks to the signage!
There were so many grab-and-go options neatly lined up, which makes it so much easier to browse quickly, grab what you need, and head off.
We feel this is not only a great spot to dine, but also a comfortable area to sit down and chill or maybe get some work done on your computer if you’re waiting for your room to be ready!
Menu
If American classics are your thing, you’ll love the menu here! You’ll find items like Chicken Noodle Soup, salads, the Earth Shake Fried Chicken Sandwich, a Hawaiian Turkey Burger, a Quesadilla, and so much more.
A kids’ menu is also available, and if you’re looking to snack on something but don’t want a full meal, there are side items like Onion Rings, Mac and Cheese, and Street Corn available.
Eats
Now it’s time for what we’ve all been waiting for — the FOOD! We grabbed a few different items, including the Terra Burger for $16, which is a double smashed beef patty, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and cosmic sauce on a challah bun. When we asked the staff what their favorite item was, or what item they hoped would be most popular, they told us it was this, and WOW do we see why! The quality of this burger blew us away — it didn’t feel like we were eating at a quick service hotel spot, this felt like a true, sit-down restaurant quality burger.
The meat was perfectly tender and so flavorful, all the toppings were so fresh and crispy, and THAT CHEESE! There were two slices of cheese on here and both were perfectly melty. Normally, our reporter puts ketchup on their burgers to help with flavor, but that wasn’t needed here because all that flavor was already there! Overall, we can’t recommend this enough or express how much it exceeded our expectations.
We also grabbed The Big French Dipper for $16. This is shaved ribeye steak, onions, provolone cheese, and au jus on French bread, and we, again, were surprised by how much we loved it! The quality of the meat shocked us again, and we couldn’t get over how juicy the steak was.
The bread was toasted beautifully, the cheese was melted impeccably, and we loved the sweet note the onions added to the well-balanced sandwich. The au jus was also incredible, and all paired together it far exceeded what we were expecting it to be. And we can’t forget about those sweet potato fries! Perfectly sweet, seasoned, and crispy — we’ll rave about them for a while.
For dessert, we grabbed the Chocolate Moon Pizza for $11, which is made with Nutella, marshmallow, strawberries, and sugar dust. The strawberries here were perfectly fresh and we loved how the marshmallow was almost more of a melty whipped cream! The Nutella brought it all together very well, but we will admit we have one complaint with this one.
We love how fun this is, and how it’s a fun take on a sweet and savory item, but there was just a little too much bread for us. The bread itself isn’t sweet at all, so once you get to the crust and there are no more Nutella, marshmallows, or strawberries, it’s just plain bread.
We’d love to see some more sugar dusting to make it sweeter, or have more of the toppings spread closer to the edges! We think this is a great treat, and for the size, it’s easy to share for $11, but we would just like to see a few changes made!
Nosh or Not
We think Omega Cafe and Market will be a great option for those who:
- Are looking for a truly great quick service dining experience
- Are staying at Terra Luna Hotel and want to eat before heading into the parks/when you get back
- Both picky and adventurous eaters alike!
However, it likely won’t be the best fit if:
- You’re not staying at Terra Luna (as it’s a bit out of the way to get here, even if you’re at Epic Universe)
- You’re not a big fan of traditional American food
- You’re looking for a really cheap meal
