Disney just dropped a TON of news on us, and we’re still reeling!
We got official opening dates for The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure AND Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and they’ve also just made an announcement that Disney World hotel guests will love. During Early Entry this summer, you’ll be able to meet some of your favorite Disney characters EARLIER than ever before!
Disney World hotel guests get 30 minutes of Early Entry into each Disney World park every day of their vacation. In Magic Kingdom, Tomorrowland and Fantasyland open their attractions early (with the exception of TRON Lightcycle / Run), but a recent rope drop change now allows you to get in line for any attraction in the park, even if doesn’t open for another half hour!
However, Disney has just announced that this summer, a few characters will begin their meet and greets inside the parks DURING Early Entry, instead of waiting for the park’s official opening! This is fantastic news for guests who are hoping to meet some of their favorite friends with much shorter lines.
At this time, we don’t know which characters will be meeting early in which parks, but Disney has shared that these changes should begin around May 27th! We’ll be on the lookout for all the latest information so we can let you know ASAP.

Yes, this means that the rides will be less empty. I hope more people use their precious early entry for meet and greets.
I don’t, never have, done the character meet and greets. Not even when my kids were younger. We’d meet characters at a meal. But time in the park is for rides, attractions and shows.
