Disney World has changed the payment plans for its Annual Passholder program.
While the prices of all four tiers of Annual Passes have not increased, Disney lowered the down payment and increased the monthly payment. Here is a breakdown of how Annual Pass payment plans will now work.
There are so many perks to becoming an Annual Passholder, like discounts on food and merchandise, free parking, and, of course, the ability to visit the parks when you please (granted, some passes have blockout dates, and Park Pass Reservation rules are relaxed but still in place).
There are currently four tiers of Disney World Annual Passes. Florida residents can purchase all four tiers, including Pixie, Pirate, Sorcerer, and Incredi-Pass. Eligible Disney Vacation Club Members can purchase the Sorcerer Pass, and all guests can purchase the Incredi-Pass, which is the most expensive pass that offers the most flexibility.
Rather than lowering (and, thank goodness, not raising) the cost of the four Annual Passes, Disney has adjusted the way passes can be paid off. Here is a breakdown:
- Pixie Pass
- Old Down Payment: $205
- New Down Payment: $99
- Old Monthly Payment: $25
- New Monthly Payment: $34
- Pirate Pass
- Old Down Payment: $205
- New Down Payment: $99
- Old Monthly Payment: $57
- New Monthly Payment: $66
- Sorcerer Pass
- Old Down Payment: $205
- New Down Payment: $99
- Old Monthly Payment: $79
- New Monthly Payment: $88
- Incredi-Pass
- Old Down Payment: $205
- New Down Payment: $99
- Old Monthly Payment: $121
- New Monthly Payment: $130
Only Florida residents have the option to use the monthly payment plan. We find this news to be very interesting. It seems like this is a way to help Disney increase Annual Pass sales by making all passes just $99.

I really wish that Disney would do a lower-cost out-of-state pass! Coming from Colorado, I can usually only get to DL or WDW once or twice a year. And as such, we have to pay for flights, hotels, food, etc., which means that we are spending DRAMATICALLY more to come to the parks. And we don’t clog up the place by coming every day after work, or a few times a week just because we’re locals.
We use the parks much less and spend much more, yet we’re excluded from every pass except the most expensive one – it just doesn’t seem fair. 🙁
I think that may be Universal breathing down their neck. Also, the pass is not « just $99 » it is now a down payment of « just 99 » with a heavier monthly payment. Although it does make it a little easier to budget.
How about a pass for seniors who don’t do the rides, but do come to spend money on food, drinks, souvenirs, etc. Maybe allow entry to the park around 4:00 or 5:00 pm.
My plan was to get APs for me and my husband once the kids leave the nest (still got a few years to go) Since we’re out of state and can’t get a payment plan, I’m going to start my own “AP savings” payment plan to start stashing money away to pay in full when we’re ready to purchase then. I’ll be putting the money in a high yield savings account so it can earn some interest while we save. I wish I could afford them now for the 4 of us, but that’s just not doable for us right now
I completely agree with Colorado! Also us out of state holders should be mailed the magnets!! I’m still very upset I can’t get a lightening bug magnet….
It would be great if all people could get a payment plan for the annual passes. Even though I get my DVC discount on the pass it’s still a lot of $ at once.
This is just my opinion but I think they should offer the payment plan on all passes and offer different tiers for everyone. I feel they would sell more that way.
