It’s no secret that EPCOT has a lot of fantastic dining options. We talk about our favorites all the time. Thanks to the World Showcase, you can — quite literally — dine and snack around the world in EPCOT.
BUT let’s just take a moment to talk about those restaurants that we just don’t ever book, maybe because we don’t like their atmosphere, or we think they’re overrated or overpriced, or we just don’t think the food is that great. We’ve got three to tell you about that we just don’t go to, and we’re going to tell you why.
Now let us preface this by saying that everyone has their own individual tastes and priorities. But overall, these are restaurants we don’t think are worth the time and money, or even a Disney Dining Plan table service credit.
Space 220
Now, don’t get us wrong, the concept of Space 220 is VERY cool. Basically, to visit this restaurant, you take an elevator TO SPACE so you can dine IN SPACE (and the theming is very well done). But you’re also subjected to a pre fixe menu, which is pricey, and probably not worth it just for the experience of dining in space itself.
HOWEVER, with that being said…if you can get yourself a spot in the Space 220 lounge, you get the very same experience without having to eat a three-course meal. All you need to do is order something from the lounge menu, which could be food, drinks, or both. It’s a lot cheaper and you’re not inundated with so much food that you can’t possibly eat it all.
Space 220 Lounge vs. Space 220 Restaurant
Coral Reef Restaurant
Okay, if you’ve followed us for a while, you pretty much know how we feel about Coral Reef. It’s just not that great, and you’re paying premium prices for food that isn’t, well, that premium. Seafood is always dicey in a theme park, but here, it’s just…well, yeah. Maybe that’s why we recommend eating anything BUT the fish at this restaurant.
If you’re craving fish in EPCOT, you might just want to head on over to the U.K. Pavilion and get some proper Fish and Chips.
We’re STILL Confused About Our Meal at This EPCOT Restaurant
Nine Dragons
Nine Dragons is another restaurant we really want to be better, but it just doesn’t impress us. It is a place to get TRULY spicy food in Disney World, so if you’re looking for some spice that’s WAY beyond Disney spice, this is where to find it. Honestly, though, your local Chinese restaurant is probably going to be a better — and cheaper — choice.
Otherwise, we’ve found much of the food bland here, even after the restaurant changed up its menu and added more adventurous options. It’s a no for us, dawg.
REVIEW: This EPCOT Restaurant Has a Flashy Location and a New Menu, But We Still Can’t Recommend It
The good news is that there are a LOT of great EPCOT restaurants we can recommend. Via Napoli has some of the BEST pizza in Disney World. Le Cellier is hard to get a reservation for because, yes, it is that good (just go for the cheese soup, y’all). Spice Road Table is terribly underrated and a great spot to grab something more unique. Y’all KNOW we love Garden Grill — it’s one of our favorite character dining experiences in all of Disney World. There are plenty of good choices with LOADS of variety, so you don’t have to waste your time at a spot that isn’t worth it.

We agree with the not-so-great or at least not worth it POV on Space 220. We also love the lounge. But Coral Reef is one of our favorites (we usually order steak lol), and we’ve had a couple of nice meals at Nine Dragons on recent trips (although we don’t like super spicy food, so there is that). Some of the food at Nine Dragons was a little bland, but overall we liked it. But hey – the fewer people that like these places or are inclined to try them, more for us! ?
I total agree with you naturaldisastergirl. We celebrated our Christmas dinner at Coral Reef. The food was great and the service over the top. Nine Dragons has the best Chinese. The flavor all come through, They are not over power by a lot of sugary or spicy flavor. If your looking for great Chinese that you can taste the different food in the dish go to None Dragons. But I agree the few people that go to these places the better chance we have getting in. Like still trying for a dinner at Space 220 maybe out luck will change in April.
Space 220 is stupid expensive! No reason for this ridiculous cost! Lucky are those to be able to afford it!
Unfortunately, I have dined everywhere except Norway and cannot say I yearn to ho back to any of them. While Epcot good might be diverse, for the money it is an also ran.
