A new video on Disney’s social media channels has given a tiny teaser about the upcoming new version of Test Track.
In early March 2025, the official Disney Imagineering Instagram account posted a short clip of a day in the life of a project engineer working on the on-going refurbishment of EPCOT’s Test Track.
The clip follows the Imagineer — named Carleigh — throughout the course of a day working on the project, headlined with the caption “Buckle up! ?? Join Carleigh, a Project Engineer, as she takes us through a day working on Test Track presented by @generalmotors! #WICweek”
Over the course of the video, we see Carleigh working on site…
… attending meetings…
… and most interesting to us, giving quick peeks at what appears to be the attraction’s queue area…
… and part of the ride, possibly the unloading area (though it’s tough to tell).
Work began on this third incarnation of Test Track as soon as the previous version closed for refurbishment last June. According to Disney, the latest version of Test Track will “take inspiration” from World of Motion, the original EPCOT attraction that “took visitors on a time travel journey through the history of transportation” which Test Track replaced in the late 1990s. Furthermore, this reimagining will celebrate the “past, present, and future of automation.”
A new official Disney social media gives some insight into a day in the life of an Imagineer… and may give a sneak peek at the NEW Test Track! Stay tuned to DFB for more on EPCOT’s newest project.

Yes, I am excited to see the new Test Track. I was a big fan of the World of Motion. Then when the makeover to Test Track made its debut, I enjoyed the change, but the original always held a special place in my heart. Glad the new version will have some of the original show.
I love seeing all the different aspects of Disney Engineering and what it takes to get a ride up and going – thanks for posting!
When World of Motion was reimagined into Test Track I was blown away. The out of the box thinking coupled to the Imagineers ability to create ground breaking educational attraction entertainment was beyond my scope at the time. I am concerned that the new generation of imagineers can plus an already iconic attraction. I am very concerned about the next best. Let’s face it, the last 3 ships unveiled at Disney Cruise Line pale in comparison to the first 4 in reinventing the cruise experience. Disney/Wed was known as a ground breaking out of the box thinking organization, but has been transformed into an also ran in the family entertainment field. Universal and others a surpassing what was once the benchmark.
