It’s so important to stay hydrated on your Disney World trip.

Free water!
When you’re walking miles and miles through the Disney parks, especially when it’s humid and hot as it typically is in Florida. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to ensure you’re drinking enough water in the parks. But there’s one annoyance we are expecting to see more of in Disney World as it starts warming up.
As the weather becomes warmer, we usually see Disney World put out water coolers and free cups to help guests have easy access to water, which is so nice to have when you’re beyond thirsty. However, one problem our team members have noticed is how small the free water cups are.
The Experts are DIVIDED on the FREE WATER at Disney World.

Water station
We understand not wanting guests to use them to refill with soda, but we think there has to be a better way to avoid that from happening because these small cups are causing issues. We usually see crowds around the free water stations because guests need more than just a few ounces of water to stay hydrated. This causes a line of people to wait to refill it multiple times… therefore, we are deeming it “water lice”. “Lice” is just a term used for something annoying and having to wait to refill your water cup multiple times is well… annoying.

Water station
Larger water cups could eliminate “water lice” issues. But, until we see larger cups, don’t forget about the free water refill stations throughout the parks. For example, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll find one at Galaxy’s Edge and you can find one in Magic Kingdom by TRON, but there are plenty more throughout the parks.

You can also grab free water cups at quick service restaurants throughout the parks. If you don’t mind carrying around a larger water bottle, we think this is your best choice as your bottle could hold more water than the little cups.

I don’t like carrying much around the parks so I have Collapsible silicone travel cups and can fill them at any water station. I got mine on Amazon.
Collapsible water bottles and cups (I think a few have even been featured on DFB) are good options for people who don’t want to ‘carry around a lot.’ Some disposable water bottles (like spring water and grocery store brands) can also be ‘squished down’ and ‘re-inflated’ at least a few times as well before sprouting leaks, and then they can be put in recycle bins at the end of the day. I get that some people don’t like planning, but having at least a basic plan for staying hydrated isn’t in the same class as planning every move of the trip. This doesn’t have to be a thing.
