Disney’s Hollywood Studios isn’t really known for having the best dining options out there, but we’re here to assure you that if you know where to look, you’ll find some gems!
One of the most popular quick service spots in the park is Backlot Express, located right near the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. It has plenty of seating with a lot of it indoors out of the sun, and while the menu is pretty generic, serving up classic theme park eats that will appease pretty much everyone in your party, there’s one option here that really blows our mind AND it’s a KIDS meal!
One of the beauties about quick service restaurants in Disney World is that anyone can order off the kid’s menu, no matter how old they are! This is true whether you’re placing your order at the kiosk in person, or if you’re placing a Mobile Order (which we highly recommend).
Over at Backlot Express, there are a few different kids’ menu options to choose from, but the one that really catches our eye every time is the Kids’ Disney Check Meals Teriyaki Tofu Bowl for $8.49. This is made with Seasoned Jasmine Rice, Marinated Tofu, Yuzu-pickled Edamame, Carrots, Cucumber, and Onions drizzled with House-made Lemon-Tahini Chipotle Vinaigrette and Sesame Seeds, and while it does come in an adult portion as well, we often find the kids’ bowl is the perfect size for us.
The kids’ bowl honestly is only a little bit smaller than the adult portion AND it comes with a kids’ soda cup included in the price, which can be refilled while you dine! It’s truly an amazing deal and we never don’t love it. Plant-based eaters and vegetarians will especially love this filling dish, and we love that it’s truly a healthier option in the parks.
You may not realize it when you’re on vacation visiting, but we’re in the parks every day, so take it from us — it’s HARD to eat healthy in Disney World when you’re there nearly every day! Salads are fantastic, but they often don’t stay with you for very long, and we need proper fuel to keep us going. Chicken tenders and chicken sandwiches have protein, sure, but most of them are also fried, which is another conundrum. We know we can always count on this bowl to be a healthier option AND we love it!

You are right! It is amazing!!
sounds yummy (sans the tofu) but my kids wouldn’t eat it.
Does anyone know – Is it possible to get this without the onions? I have a violent food allergy (Passed down from my dad, and my grandpa, etc. – lucky me!). I’m not usually a big fan of tofu, but I’d be willing to try this if it wouldn’t kill me in the process. 🙂
