Fans of Arthurian legends, hold on to your horses (literally) because an epic new offering is coming to the United Kingdom in 2026!
Unlike the United States, which has many different theme parks peppered all over the country, the United Kingdom isn’t known for having as many — they certainly still have some hot spots though, such as Alton Towers, LEGOLAND Windsor, and Thorpe Park, just to name a few. A popular nighttime spectacular show called Kynren – An Epic Tale of England is located at Flatts Farm in England and has been highly rated for years, and the company has just announced they’re opening a NEW daytime theme park in 2026!
Kynren is a spectacle like no other — located at a massive castle, this cast and crew of over 1000 people put on an incredible 90-minute show nearly every Saturday night detailing 2000 years of England’s history. You join young Arthur on his quest, and, according to the official website, “From Boudicca’s battles with the Romans to two world wars, via Vikings, Tudors and the fate of Charles I, Kynren’s a spellbinding, family-friendly experience delivering thrills, shocks, tears, laughs, goosebumps and gasps on a truly cinematic scale.”
The company behind the show has just made a massive announcement to their fans — they’re building a new daytime theme park on the same land! It’ll be called Kynren – The Storied Lands and will be a “time-travelling” theme park with plans to open in Summer 2026 (pending final planning approval), according to Blooloop.
Here, you’ll be able to travel to multiple different periods throughout England’s history — one minute you could be standing in Neolithic Britain, and the next you’re watching a Viking Show with incredible live-action performers. And what’s better than a thrilling water attraction that retells the legend of the Lambton Worm?
Guests will also explore “a new experience centered around the relationship between birds and humans, set on a stage inspired by a bird’s nest.” Finally, guests will walk the gaslit streets of Victorian England before experiencing the largest show of them all, Fina.
Now, this won’t be a traditional theme park, because, at this time, there are no plans for rides. Instead, guests will experience immersive experiences, incredible shows, and themed experiences. Jonathan Ruffer, founder of 11Arches, the charity operating Kynren, said, “Kynren’s success has not only made the day park possible, but it has provided a springboard for its opening next year. No quivering shovels, just a settled determination to bring a gift of outstanding preciousness to Bishop Auckland.”
Currently, the new land plans to have five shows and immersive experiences with future potential expansions planning to explore experiences themed to the Tudors, as well as the legendary tales about Robin Hood and Excalibur. The news has stirred up mixed reviews with theme park fans in the United Kingdom — some are thrilled, while others don’t have faith that it’ll be very successful.
