We are still a few years away from the opening of Pueblo Esperanza in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. However, we are already starting our wishlists of what we hope to see on the brand-new rides!
This brand-new Tropical Americas-themed land will replace DinoLand, U.S.A., and will bring not one but two new major attractions. There will be an Indiana Jones attraction AND an Encanto attraction, and we stumbled across something we need to see in the new Encanto ride!
Pueblo Esperanza, a Tropical Americas-themed land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, is expected to open in 2027. This area will feature two major attractions, a carousel, and one of the biggest quick-service restaurants at Disney World.
While Disney has released some concept art for the area and the attractions, and we also got the opportunity to look at a model of the new land, we can’t help but fantasize about what we hope will be included inside the new Encanto attraction.
We don’t know a whole lot about the Encanto attraction yet. We know the attraction will take riders inside the enchanted Casita and will begin just as Antonio has received his special gift and his room becomes a beautiful rainforest. We will explore with him, and you “never know what member of the family you might bump into…”
We already imagine an intricately themed ride with gorgeous colors and lots of Encanto charm. Based on the concept art, we expect the attraction to be a boat ride, but Disney has not confirmed that detail yet. We are excited to see what technology Disney incorporates into the new ride to make the story come to life.
We already found one piece of technology that we think needs to be included in this attraction. We recently spotted a video of robot walls that move. The technology comes from Jesse T. Gonzalez, a PhD candidate at Carnegie Mellon. The robot wall can interact with its surroundings and move to create shapes such as a shelf.
These life-like walls would be the perfect addition to the Encanto ride. Even Freethink agrees as they use Encanto as an example of how magical this technology appears. This technology could be a great addition to the new attraction to help make the enchanted Casita come to life before our eyes!
We think it would be cool if the walls appeared almost alive as we made our way through the attraction. There is so much to love about the enchanted Casita, and we really hope that Disney takes the time to make it magical!
Of course, these are just our hopes for the attraction, and only time will tell about what is actually included inside the new Encanto ride. We will keep dreaming while we wait for more announcements from Disney! In the meantime, make sure you check out our ultimate guide to Animal Kingdom in 2025:

I only want the Encanto ride to have a wheelchair accessible vehicle(WAV) and not be like Frozen or Navi river journey.
Encanto, shmecanto… I want an “Emperor’s New Groove” themed roller coaster (“To the secret lab… pull the lever, Kronk… WRONG LEVER!!!)
