Okay, we’ll admit it. There is one Disney World park that feels a little…smaller right now. But that’s because BIG CHANGES are coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom! We’re getting an entirely new land — Pueblo Esperanza — in place of DinoLand U.S.A., and even the park’s icon, the Tree of Life, is getting a brand-new show called Zootopia: Better Zoogether! But while we wait for these additions, expect extra construction walls and closures around the park.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
In addition to the phased closure of DinoLand U.S.A. and the seasonal Kali River Rapids refurbishment, Disney just announced another temporary closure at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The popular Mickey and Minnie character meet-and-greet at Adventurer’s Outpost is closing this February.
If you were hoping to meet Mickey and Minnie during your Disney trip this February, you might need to take a closer look at your game plan. The meet-and-greet at Adventurer’s Outpost on Discovery Island will be closed from February 25th to 27th, 2025.

Adventurer’s Outpost in Animal Kingdom
This temporary closure is likely just for a short refurbishment, but Disney has not stated if Mickey and Minnie will be meeting elsewhere during the closure. Who knows — you might find them tucked away somewhere else on Discovery Island! If you spot a Cast Member in a blue polo top (Disney’s Character Attendants), you might want to ask them if Mickey and Minnie are meeting anywhere in Animal Kingdom between February 25th and 27th. They’ll be able to point you in the right direction!

Look for Cast Members in blue!
Luckily, there are plenty of other ways to meet Mickey and Minnie in Disney World! If you want to see Mickey in his safari gear, you can reserve a character meal at Tusker House. The food here is pretty good, too!

Heya, Mickey!
Mickey and Minnie also meet at Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT, so you should have a few chances to grab a photo with Mickey! Make sure to check the My Disney Experience app — the wait times for these meet-and-greet attractions can really fluctuate throughout the day.
