It’s not every day you see a celebrity in Disney World, but when it is, WOW is it special!
We keep our eyes peeled for them all the time, because you never know when there might be special filming happening in the parks, or they’re just visiting with their family/friends to have a great time. With the recent release of Captain America: Brave New World, we expected the theater in Disney Springs to be pretty packed with fans seeing the film, but we didn’t expect Captain America himself to show up!
Anthony Mackie, the new Captain America, showed up at a screening of his new film at the AMC Theaters located in Disney Springs to surprise fans! He spoke to them before the movie screened, and we can only imagine how starstruck everyone was.
He also made a funny video with a (very lucky) AMC employee, recreating a popular trend right now. Personally, we’ve never seen something so iconic.
It’s just been announced that Captain America: Brave New World soared to bring in over $100 million at the national box office during opening weekend alone, and $192.4 million globally. The budget of the film as a whole was $180 million, according to AP News, so that means in just three days, they’ve broken even, which is especially impressive considering the film received very low critic scores — however, the majority of audience members appear to be loving it.

They didn’t break even. That cost was before all the extensive reshoots and doesn’t include the advertising budget. Also, the theaters take half the profits, more overseas. Most analysts figure the movie needs to make close to a billion to break even, so please recheck your figures.
