Hello fellow introvert! If you are heading to Disney World soon, you may be worried about how you will manage Disney World as an introvert.
Well, I have good news for you! It is 100% doable, and I can almost guarantee that you will have a fantastic time. Just make sure you are taking time for yourself and listening to your body. Plus, I have some things you should make sure you pack for Disney World!
Disney World is truly my happy place, and even though I go as often as I can, I never get tired of scanning into the parks and exploring. However, if there is one thing most people know about Disney World, is that is is CROWDED. Sure, there are more crowded times of the year like Spring Breaks and Christmas, but even during the slower season, you will be surrounded by A LOT of other people.
As an introvert, it can be very draining to go to Disney World. You are constantly surrounded by people, and if you aren’t going solo, you will find yourself constantly chatting with your group. Even if you are solo, you will find that Cast Members and other visitors will strike up conversations. There are lots of sounds and lights almost everywhere you go, and there will be times when you just wish everything around you would be quiet.
However, if you take time for yourself and understand your limits, I think you will have a wonderful time at Disney World. As you are preparing for your Disney World trip, I have a couple of items that I ALWAYS make sure to bring. They will help make your trip even better!
You need to grab a pair of Loop Earplugs!
I will forever sing praises for Loop Earplugs, as they have truly made my Disney World visits SO much better. You can choose from a couple different varieties, depending on how much sound you want to block out. They are easy to pop-in when things are getting loud, and they do a great job of blocking out background noise, but still allowing you to hear conversations. It will take a bit of time to get used to talking with them in, but I promise you, these are lifechanging! You can use them so many other places than just Disney World too.
Bring your Kindle with you!
I know, I know, you are at Disney World to experience Disney World, but hear me out. I love bringing my Kindle with me to take out when I am feeling overwhelmed, or just need a moment of relaxation. I am definitely guilty of reading in line to give my mind a bit of a break. But, the Kindle is a real star when you can find a quiet place and take a few minutes to read. It really helps me recharge so I can enjoy the rest of the day! You can also bring a normal book, but I find my Kindle so much easier to carry around.
Don’t forget sunglasses for some bright light relief!
I don’t know about you, but I find that I can easily get overwhelmed by all the stimulation that happens at Disney World. The lights, the sounds, the people. It is a lot, but bringing a good pair of sunglasses help to bring some relief from bright lights (that Florida sun is intense!). You can also pop them on if you want a bit of darkness during your day.
Prepare for a relaxing evening with shower steamers!
While it is important to take time for yourself while you are at the parks, it is also critical to give yourself time in the evenings to relax! After a long day at the parks, us introverts have definitely earned a lovely, relaxing evening. Bring things that help you relax! For me, I love popping a Lavender Shower Steamer in my shower. They are perfect for creating a relaxing atmosphere!
Soothe your body with a weighted blanket!
In addition to shower steamers, I also love bringing a weighted blanket with me. They are the perfect addition for recovery and comfort after a long day of dealing with lots of people. This Kaisa Weighted Blanket is not only a fun shape, but it is also smaller than a normal weighted blanket to make it easier to travel with.
