Disney World is a busy place!

EPCOT
There is lots happening in Disney World right now like DinoLand U.S.A. slowly closing its doors, a new Monster’s Inc. Land is in the works, and new shows heading to the parks. While it’s a lot of exciting change, we won’t lie there are times to avoid Disney World and we’ve got the dates for you right here!
Can you believe we’re telling you to avoid going to Disney World? We love the theme parks but we love making the theme parks as magical as possible even more. One way to make your trip even better is to try and avoid the crowds so here’s 10 dates you need to consider before booking your next trip to Orlando!

Let’s avoid the crowds this year!
The first dates you need to consider are coming soon! First up is Presidents’ Day Week which is February 14th–23rd, 2025! This weekend is typically a super busy weekend thanks to that extra day away from work and school on the 17th. This weekend traditionally bleeds into the rest of the week.

Next up, avoid Spring Break where you can! Spring Break isn’t consistent across school systems, March 23rd–30th, 2025, is when we expect to see the largest crowds for this school break holiday. Spring Break extends from mid-March through the end of April which is when you’ll see a lot of families heading to the parks.

Easter Weekend is from April 11th–20th, 2025! Magic Kingdom does a special parade and meet and greet plus you can find special treats around the resort. It’s also traditionally nice weather, which the crowds seem to know, and they come running.

Hello, Easter Bunnies!
If you haven’t picked up on the theme yet, holiday weekends are the times to avoid so it’s no surprise the next dates to avoid are May 24th-26th, 2025, for Memorial Day Weekend. This weekend is the last break right before summer break begins for most schools so the crowds are looking for a taste of summer and then tend to find it in Disney World.

Once summer starts, the crowds tend to stick around from May to August but July 4th and the days around it are peak times in the parks! July 3rd-July 11th, 2025, is expected to heat up the parks figuratively and literally. There are special fireworks and decor, but there are also lots of people there to see it.

We have a nice break in the crowds for a while until Columbus Day Week rolls around on October 10th–18th, 2025. These crowds will blend into the runDisney Wine and Dine Half Marathon that takes place from October 23rd-26th, 2025. The runDisney crowds show up and show out to run the race and support their friends in the race and it will be noticeable in the lines!

Moving into November, Thanksgiving Week is from November 21st–28th, 2025. If you want to celebrate the things you’re thankful for, Disney World is certainly a place to do it! We love grabbing some dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern around this time (if we can get a reservation.) In the past we’ve also seen some special desserts and snacks during this week.

You can have a Thanksgiving feast year-round at Liberty Tree Tavern
The holidays are still rolling through with Christmas week from December 18th–25th, 2025. The holidays in Disney World are so special! The different decor, snacks, and holiday parties are something special to experience in the parks but you’ll be fighting through the groups to do it. If we’re being honest, we think it’s okay if you want to fight the crowds on any of these dates but especially for Christmas.

To wrap up 2025, you might want to avoid New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. EPCOT and Magic Kingdom both hold special fireworks on these nights. EPCOT in particular really shows out with silent dance parties, DJs, and more! It’s such a fun time as long as you don’t mind knocking elbows with the families next to you.

That takes us through 2025 but don’t forget about two additional dates that we don’t quite know yet! In 2025, Test Track is reopening in the Summer of 2025, and the new Zooptopia: Better Together show is expected to head to Animal Kingdom in the Winter of 2025.

We don’t know the official dates for either of these openings but we do know that the parks tend to be pretty crowded on opening days of new attractions! It’s important to know if you’re heading to the parks on any of these dates, that’s totally okay! Just be prepared to have some fun and wait a bit longer in some lines. 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting one for Disney World and we can’t wait to be there for it all. Certainly, avoid any race weekend. Sometimes they race on the main 8 lane road, closing it to bus traffic. So, instead of 4 lanes from the Magic Kingdom resorts to HS or AK, it’s 1 lane on back roads.
