One of our favorite pastimes at the Disney Parks around the world is collecting celebration buttons! These free gifts are buttons given to you by Disney Cast Members that let you celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons, graduations, first visits, and ANY special occasion you can think of! If you’ve ever been to a Disney Park, chances are you’ve seen PLENTY of these being sported by guests. Well, as it turns out, you can get them on Disney cruise ships too!

According to our personal experience and planDisney, there are complimentary celebration buttons at Guest Services on Disney Cruise Line ships!

While Disney doesn’t guarantee all of the buttons, such as a “First Cruise” button, you can always get a general celebration button for any occasion.
According to planDisney, “You can also fill out a special request form online if you’d like your cruise team to celebrate an event with you. It might be fun to order something special from Onboard Gifts to say “bon voyage” for your first sailing, too!”

While this perk isn’t earth-shattering, it’s super cute and super on-brand for a Disney adventure. If you didn’t know about this perk in the past, we highly recommend you take advantage of it in your future voyages, as you get a keepsake that’ll last you forever — no extra charge necessary!

We’ve been given anniversary buttons on our cruises. I can’t remember if it’s when you book or when you do online check in, or maybe both that you get asked if you’re celebrating anything on the trip. We’ve celebrated our wedding anniversary 4 times on board. The dining room servers ask when you want to celebrate and you say which day. On the day you choose they give you the buttons at the table and bring out a special dessert that is not on the ordinary menu. Don’t worry, you get this as well as the dessert item you’ve chosen off that day’s menu.
