It’s almost time to head into Epic Universe!

Universal’s newest theme park is set to open on May 22nd, 2025 with new lands like the How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, and more. We finally have even more details and are ready to jump for joy!

Universal has finally given us more info about what we can expect to see in Super Nintendo World! Super Nintendo World will be made up of two different areas, Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country.

We’ve known about some things we can expect in Super Mario Land, but we are finally getting even more details about Donkey Kong Country! Inside this new area, we can now expect to find The Bubbly Barrel!

This new stand will offer sweet treats and refreshing drinks all inside a gigantic barrel. We’re hoping for a few fun banana-themed treats and drinks but maybe that’s too on the nose. The website notes that the menu isn’t available yet, but it will be coming soon.

Next up, if you’re looking to shop, a new store is opening called Funky’s Fly ‘n’ Buy! Funky Kong, Donkey Kong’s friend, has turned Donkey Kong’s “airplane into an open air jungle market.”

This shop is right next door to The Bubbly Barrel, and you can shop for souvenirs, apparel, and more.

Finally, the most exciting news is you will be able to meet Donkey Kong himself! You can head inside the gorilla’s tree house to say hi and snap a picture or two. Donkey Kong will be just one of several meet-and-greets you can expect in Super Nintendo World!

We can’t wait to see more of this land unfold as it’s being built! We’ve already spotted tons of photos of Donkey Kong Country being built where you can spy Mine Cratf Madness, a coaster that will jump the tracks to help Donkey Kong protect the Golden Banana.

Inside Super Nintendo World, you will also be able to hop on the Mario Kart attraction, go on an adventure with Yoshi, meet Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach, stop by Toadstool Cafe for lunch, and so much more! We’re just waiting on the day we can buy our power-up bands so we can play interactive games within the land.

The rest of Epic Universe is also coming together! Stella Nova Resort opened earlier in 2025 which signaled the first part of the Epic Universe expansion and we have been seeing more and more of what we can expect in each land.
