There is so much happening in Disney World!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
From the new Monsters Inc. Land to the closing of DinoLand U.S.A. and even new parades and shows, there is a lot of excitement happening in the Disney theme parks! One thing we don’t like is this new trend we’re seeing in Disney World and what it’s costing us!
There are tons of trends we see around Disney World each year, some we are fans of, and some we aren’t! This newest Disney World trend is one we don’t want to see stick around for very long. Over in Animal Kingdom, we’ve spotted a trend with the cost of Lightning Lanes, specifically for Flight of Passages!

Lightning Lane for Flight of Passage
Lightning Lanes in Disney World let you pay to skip the lines for most of the attractions in the theme parks! Multi Pass Lightning Lanes give you access to most of the Lightning Lanes and Single Pass gives you access to one of the most popular rides in each park. For Animal Kingdom, the Single Pass is for Flight of Passage.

Fight of Passage Lightning Lane
We check Lightning Lane prices each day in Disney World so we can help predict trends and plan for budgeting for the parks and we’ve noticed some changes to that Single Pass we aren’t big fans of. Typically, the Single Pass costs around $14 (depending on the season and crowds) per person per day but we have seen it as high as $18 before. The Multi Pass for this park can range as high as $29 per person per day. Unfortunately, we’ve seen a new trend of the Single Pass costing more than the Multi Pass in this park!

If you’re heading to the park on February 15th, 2025, you can expect to pay more to ride Flight of Passage than you would pay to gain access to the short lines for nine other attractions. Disney only states that you can expect to skip the line for three rides when purchasing Multi Pass but we have found that isn’t the case, especially in Animal Kingdom. While we traditionally suggest only purchasing Flight of Passage to save some time and money, that might not be the case when you head to this wild park.

Flight of Passage in Pandora
This is the first time we’ve noticed this jump of the Single Pass costing more than Multi Pass and we hope this won’t stick around! The Flight of Passage single pass costs $18 on February 14th as well but it doesn’t exceed the Multi Pass price. It’s no surprise we prefer the Single Pass to cost much less, as do most people! We have encouraged readers in the past to buy this skip-the-line pass, and when the price drops again, we will still stand by that. For now, though, we aren’t sure that paying more for one ride than the 3+ others is the best plan for our budget.

The floating mountains in Pandora
We’re sure this price will go down once the Valentine’s Day crowds calm a bit but always make sure to double check before purchasing your Multi Pass or Single Pass. As always, stay tuned for more Disney news and updates with DFB!

What I used to love about Disney was they didn’t seem like they were nickel and dining everything. You go to Universal and they charge you for everything. Jump to the head of the line, no problem. Preferred parking, cha ching. It was like you got a base entrance for the cost of your admission and they did everything to squeeze every last nickel out of you. Disney used to be different. You could go to the parks and grab a fast pass at no charge. After it was done you could grab another one and on and on. I may be old school but nothing was better than the old fastpass system. Now it just seems like Disney is doing the Universal squeeze play. It’s unfortunate. Disney used to be magical and now it is just like any other theme park that just tries to shake loose all the money out of your pockets.
As long as guests are willing to pay for lightning lane, it will be a thing. Guests should be free to spend their money how ever they wish. I think it slows the overall process, but it’s their choice to buy it
They almost have to drop the price of the MLL, with all of the closures happening.
Great ride. I prefer the OG ride vehicles. But anyway. As much as I like this ride I do t mind the queue. Especially if rope dripping and not trying to be first in line. Casual rope drop with a 30 minutes line. It’s not bad at all. So I usually don’t pay for this one. Tron, on the other hand has the worst queue at WDW. Period. I pay for that one all day.
Let’s be honest about this……..the ‘magic’ is gone. If you want that ‘old’ Disney feeling, you have to pay, pay, pay for it.
I kind of wonder if it’s because most people don’t buy a Multi Pass for AK? So they’re trying to make up for that by charging more for the FOP Single Pass?
Unless you’re going during a super busy time, the wait times for most MP attractions at AK aren’t that bad. I’m assuming most people would skip on the MP for AK and just get the SP for FOP.
