Magic Kingdom has so many iconic attractions!

Magic Kingdom
Big Thunder Mountain is closed for a lengthy refurbishment, there is a new nighttime parade in the works, and a new Cars project is in the works! There are lots of things happening in the park but we have a pitch that we think would make one of the most popular rides in this park 10 times better.
We have so many favorites in Magic Kingdom from Space Mountain to Peter Pan’s Flight, we are always busy when we head to the iconic Disney theme park. One of the drawbacks of these popular rides is that they’re well… popular. Popularity tends to lead to long lines which we prefer to avoid when we can!

A look at Magic Kingdom crowds.
There are a few ways to avoid lines like a good rope drop strategy or utilizing the park’s Lightning Lane services. While these are great options, and we use them often, we think there is still a way to improve lines in Magic Kingdom specifically for one of the park’s most popular rides! Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a rollercoaster in Fantasyland themed to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs that often sees long lines no matter what time of year it is.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train!
This outdoor coaster takes you into the mines with the Seven Dwarfs where you can spot Dopey, Grumpy, Doc, and more! This ride is super smooth and while it is exciting, it doesn’t feature large drops so it makes it kid-friendly. The height factor is also more kid-friendly thanks to its 38-inch height restriction.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
The combo of theming and family friendliness makes for many long lines for this Fantasyland attraction and we think it’s time to see if we can improve this already popular ride. We think a major improvement to this ride would be to add a single-rider line!

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train wait time!
Single-ride queues aren’t found often around Disney World but we have been seeing them more and more at rides like Rise of the Resistance, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Soarin’! These lines require your party to break up (meaning you cannot sit together) and often get you through the lines much more quickly than waiting in the traditional queue.

Look out for the sign!
The single-rider lines also require you to sit with a stranger (almost every time) to help fill each seat on the rides helping move the lines more quickly and fill the rides efficiently. Single-rider queues often fluctuate in Disney World depending on crowds but rides like Expedition Everest, Test Track, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run are almost always a guarantee for these special queues.

Single rider entrance at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
There is no guarantee that these lines will give you no wait but you can often expect to find much shorter waits than the regular queues. We think the addition of a single-rider queue to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train would be a huge win in Magic Kingdom! It would help solo travelers and groups that can separate on the rides. It would even help people in the traditional queue by getting more people out of that regular line so it seems like a win for us all.

We have seen some crazy times for this line!
Is adding a single rider queue a fix-all? Not really but we think it would make this ride 10 times better than it already is! Anything we can do to help ease the burden of long lines in Disney World, we will do! Disney we’re just asking you to consider it.

A look inside of the ride!
While we wait for Disney to use our suggestion, we will continue to rope drop, utilize a single pass, or ride this attraction during the fireworks to help cut down on wait time. Don’t forget to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney tips and tricks!

They also need a car that can accommodate larger and/or handicapped people. I got on the ride only to be asked to leave because I couldn’t get both my legs on one side of the middle barrier. It was so disappointing. It wouldn’t be hard to have a couple adapted minecars at the end of each train.
I agree with the single rider lane, but an even better idea to make the standby line go faster would be to just eliminate the lighting lane. Problem slow…??♂️
Have you ever ridden the mine train?? They separate the queue into even groups and odd groups. Putting 2 odd groups together (3+5) fills every seat! There’s absolutely no reason to add a single rider queue. Single riders are just another odd group.
