Wake up! Listen closely — we’ve got an important Disney update to share. After confirming TONS of upcoming projects in both Disney World and Disneyland, fans have been on the edge of their seats waiting to hear more about these big announcements. Are we finally getting an update on the new Villains land in Magic Kingdom?! Could Disney officially give us an opening timeline for Pueblo Esperanza in Animal Kingdom?

Disney has officially announced that Muppet*Vision 3D will permanently closing at the beginning of June, with the final day to experience the attraction being June 7th.
Disney shared that in order to make way for the new Monsters, Inc. land at Hollywood Studios, the Grand Avenue area will begin a phased closing in May, with May 10th being the last day to dine at Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano.

Along with the closure of Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo will also have its final day of operation on June 7th. This means that as of June 8th, the entire Muppets Courtyard will be blocked by those pesky construction walls.
As of now, no closure dates have been announced for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, which will be rethemed to feature The Muppets and The Electric Mayhem!

The new Monsters, Inc. themed land will pick up after the events of the popular Pixar film, and humans have now been invited to visit the world of Monsters, Inc. Disney shares that here, “you’ll be able to stroll the streets alongside some of your favorite monsters” and even visit the Laugh Factory!

Not only that, but the new Monsters, Inc. land will feature Disney’s VERY FIRST suspended coaster, which “will put you right in the middle of the monster action. Just be sure to fill out your paperwork! Roz is always watching…”
In addition to this brand-new coaster, Disney also announced that Monsters, Inc. land will also have a new theater show.

How long will it take to build Monsters inc So what will happen to Mama Melrose? Hopefully it will reopen. Our favorite restaurant.
We were there in November and did not get to go to Muppet 3D due to time and having our 2 year old granddaughter (which made it hard to do much). Wasn’t impressed with Pizza Rizzo but liked eating at Mama Melrose’s. That was one of the first places we ever ate at on our very first trip to Disney years ago. Last time my wife and I were there, I remembered exactly what table we had sat at that first trip.
