If you’re heading to Walt Disney World in February, be forewarned: The cheerleaders are coming. As has become par for the course during the second month of the year, a large group of cheerleaders and their families will be making their way to the resort for major cheerleading competitions, and they’re taking over some of Disney World’s busiest hotels.

The 2025 National High School Cheerleading Championship and the 2025 NHSCC Game Day National Championship will be staged at Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from February 7th, 2025 through the 10th.
Those enrolled in the competition will be staying at several different Disney World Resort hotels, depending on what level of package they purchased. These include the Deluxe tier Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Moderate tier Caribbean Beach Resort and Coronado Springs Resort, and the Value tier All-Star Resorts (Sports, Movies, & Music) as well as Pop Century.

In addition to these on-property Disney resorts, packages were also available at the Delta Hotels by Marriott located in nearby Celebration, Florida.

Major cheerleading competitions will bring a large amount of competitors and their families to several Disney World hotels during the first full weekend of February 2025. This may increase the noise levels, especially at the All-Star Resorts since teams tend to practice outside in the mornings and evenings in the large grassy areas.

And that is why we canceled our stay at Pop Century. I called Disney and the resort many times to find out if the Cheerleaders would be there and they said they couldn’t tell me due to privacy issues. WHAt?! So I gave up and cancelled our 2 week vacation at the resort. It was also suggested that I book at a Deluxe Resort. Sorry I cannot afford that.

I spend my birthday at Disney World whenever I can, which is in the first week of February. Luckily, I’ll be staying at Saratoga Springs next week, rather than one of the resorts listed. Animal Kingdom is my home resort, and I’m very glad I didn’t book there!
