The 2025 SXSW (South by Southwest) conference is happening in Austin, Texas on March 8th. This event is an annual conference that highlights technology, music, movies, and culture. This year, The Walt Disney Company confirmed it will attend as a featured speaker.

The 2025 conference will happen from March 7th to March 15th, and now that the full list of speakers has been confirmed, we have some ideas about what Disney might have planned.
In 2025, the SXSW Conference will host two featured speakers from The Walt Disney Company, including Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment Alan Bergman and Chairman of Disney Experiences Josh D’Amaro. We’ve seen D’Amaro speak at these events in the past.

Disney will host a session called “The Future of World-Building at Disney,” which will feature “Co-Chairman, Disney Entertainment Alan Bergman, Chairman of Disney Experiences Josh D’Amaro, and special guests as they show the convergence of imagination, innovation, and the future of experiential storytelling.”

While we don’t know exactly what Disney will announce this year, we do know that Disney tends to show off its latest projects and technology. In the past, we’ve seen Disney debut a fairy-sized Tinker Bell character meet-and-greet, a Judy Hopps robot (who can ROLLER SKATE) from Zootopia, a real-life Lightsaber, and other “Blue Sky” concepts.

Disney previously announced that all future projects will be IP-based, meaning we expect to see more attractions, experiences, and lands inspired by Disney movies and characters. We expect Disney to show off more new technology and maybe even follow up on some old projects it teased in the past.
