If you’re looking to switch up your snack style from your regular choices and upgrade to something more adventurous, then look no further than Prosperity Bao & Buns.
The 2025 Lunar New Year Festival is gearing up to be one of the most exciting yet at Disney California Adventure. With so many festival food booths to try, mixed with entertainment offerings, exclusive character meet and greets, and merch you won’t get anywhere else it’s a great time to visit Disneyland. Let’s get this new year (and the festival) started off on the right foot and dig into what’s in store for you here!
From January 17th through February 16th, 2025, Disney California Adventure is celebrating the Lunar New Year (it’s the Year of the Snake?) with all kinds of limited-time eats, unique entertainment & characters, and more. While there are some returning items you’ll certainly want to check out because they were true winners in years past for us, there are some new food items at Prosperity Bao & Bun to check out.
We’re trying them all to see if this is a booth you can’t afford to miss during your visit or if it’s a total skip for somewhere else
Menu
As we just touched on there are some delicious eats so if you wind up finding it hard to choose, we don’t blame you!
Yeah, this booth is one that’s going to be quite the challenge to tackle but we’re up for it in the name of research! To make this list a little more digestible, we’re going to break it down a little further starting with the food.
Eats
First up we’ve got the Kung Pao Bao with plant-based chicken, toasted peanuts, and scallions. This one will cost you $9.25.

Kung Pao Bao (2024)
We were so surprised to find this was made with plant-based chicken because you certainly can’t tell a difference! The sauce on this one is absolutely delicious and we think the peanuts pair very well with all the other flavors.

We loved it! (2024)
This bun does have a bit of spice, but it’s nothing you’ll find too overwhelming. The bao bun is perfectly soft and airy and all in all, we thought this one was an incredible offering!
Next up to try was the Red Panda Bao. This one will cost you $9.50 and is made of jumbo pork and vegetable bao with chile-garlic sauce.
If you’ve seen Turning Red, you’ll recognize the inspiration behind this one. It embodies Mei Lee transformation into a red panda when she experiences a strong emotion. The bao bun is fluffy and has a sweet flavor. Inside is a mixture of pork and veggies…almost like an egg roll. The veggies have a yummy crunch and the pork is seasoned well. The pork has a spice, but it’s not spicy. However, the Chili Garlic sauce IS SPICY!!! If you don’t like spice, ask for the bun without it, because it truly is a delicious snack!
This was available at Pixar Fest in 2024, but with no Pixar Fest announcement, we’re glad to see it on the menu here this year!
Now that we’ve tried all the eats, it’s time to turn our attention to the drinks you’ll find here!
Drinks
Several new drinks have been added to this booth for this festival and we couldn’t wait to try them. First up for us was the Strawberry-Lychee Cocktail made with Bourbon, strawberry purée, lychee syrup, and lime juice garnished with a skewered lime gummy which costs $17.50
We didn’t really taste the bourbon in this drink…but our reporter didn’t mind. It’s very strawberry heavy and because of that, it’s pretty sweet. It could have been better if it had some soda in it just for the bubbles to lighten up the sweetness. Is it sad that the gummy lime was our favorite part? Probably…
The new Lunar New Year Beer Flight was next! It will cost you $18.50. This flight comes with four drinks including the Harland Raspberry Yuja Lemonade Ale. Outside of the flight, this will cost you $16.25 for a full cup. Despite the fruity flavors, this was a bit too bitter for us. The raspberry and lemonade flavors are definitely there, but we wish it was lighter. We did enjoy the sour lemon aftertaste, though!
Another new drink for this year is the Study Break Lychee & White Tea Hard Seltzer which is $16.25 for a full serving. This was a gorgeous purple color and had a fragrant taste! The lychee and white tea are light flavors that we loved as a seltzer.
Three Weavers Expatriate IPA was next up on our list! If you like IPAs, you are going to love this one! It has a thicker consistency than the rest and is definitely the most different than all the others. Grab a full glass of this for $16.25.
Finally, a returning drink for this booth! The Brewery X Panda Pool Party Lager can be found as part of the flight and will cost you $14.50 outside of it. For a lager, this is such a soft and refreshing taste! It tastes like you would enjoy it by the pool.
If you’re feeling extra festive, you can also snag a Lunar New Year Mickey-shaped Light-Up Straw Clip here too. If you’re looking to grab a few there is a limit of two per person, per transaction and no discounts apply when purchasing these clips.
Overall
All in all, we felt like this booth had some delicious eats…but we’d probably skip the drinks. There are so many other places to drink around Disney California Adventure, so you could find something better and more exciting elsewhere. However, if you’re looking for a beer, there are some solid options!
Don’t let up on us yet! We’re trying EVERYTHING at the 2025 Lunar New Year Festival in Disneyland! Be sure to stay tuned with us at Disney Food Blog for even more food booth reviews as we eat our way around the fest.
