It’s time to visit our favorite tiny town, full of chaos, crime, and yes, sometimes tragedy.
Yep, we’re headed over to EPCOT to visit Tiny Train Town in the Germany Pavilion. Now, don’t underestimate this itty bitty village — it might be small, but it’s home to a lot of BIG problems. We’re talking tragedy, love triangles, jilted grooms, and even werewolves. Well, our most recent visit to Tiny Train town has uncovered a whole host of NEW problems, so it looks like the New Year is already not treating the town’s small denizens well.
First off, an introduction. The self-appointed Tiny Train Town Mayor Lydia has taken a bit of a break, so I’ve been appointed interim mayor of the village. Let’s just say, I honestly had no idea what I was getting into, but I will say this: there’s never a dull moment in Tiny Train Town. So how is 2025 treating the tiny people who call this place home? Well, not so great. Apparently, a great storm came through Tiny Train Town and ripped the roofs right off of houses.
The door to this home is still open because the woman who lived here ran out of the house in a hurry and didn’t even bother to shut the door behind her. In fact, we found her at the train station arguing with the town doctor and train conductor. This poor woman is obviously traumatized and the doctor is trying to talk her down while she’s yelling at the conductor because she wants to leave town. However, the conductor is trying to patiently explain that there’s no leaving Tiny Train Town…EVER…Well, that, and the train tracks were damaged in the storm.
Also, does this lizard seem suspicious to you? Did he have something to do with the storm? Does he know something? Did he summon Godzilla to come bashing through the village?
Elsewhere in town, it’s business as usual. These folks are used to tragedy that they just carry on like there isn’t a mutant grasshopper sitting in the middle of the road. Just another day in Tiny Train Town, nothing to see here. As you can also see, the town is still stuck in Festival of the Holidays mode. But with everything that’s happened, we just figure they haven’t had time to take down the holiday decorations yet.
The local market stand has also been completely wiped out by the storm, with its goods tossed everywhere, although it looks like it’s missing quite a bit of inventory, so we can’t rule out any looting here. Times are desperate here, people. Also, we seem to have an injury — a woman has fallen down and can’t get up. Can someone please call the doctor at the train station? Of course, she could just be napping…
However, as interim Mayor, I would like to invite more tourism to these parts, so I declare this damaged building “The Leaning Tower of Tiny Train Town.” We’re going to use it to boost the tourism campaign for the village, in hopes that it will help the town’s economy recover from the mysterious storm. We’re even going to put it on billboards: “Come see The Leaning Tower of Tiny Train Town!” It has a certain ring to it, doesn’t it?
Stay tuned to DFB for more updates from Tiny Town Village, as well as some actual Disney news, if that’s your thing.
The anarchy within is mostly created by natural occurrences, like giant squirrels, wind, rain, and relatively godzilla-sized lizards who frequent the town; but we find it fun and entertaining to make up fictional stories about what COULD be happening. We are grateful to the folks who create and maintain this Tiny Train Town for Disney World, as it’s one of our favorite parts of EPCOT and always has been.
