2025 is well underway, and that means a lot of changes are right around the corner for The Most Magical Place on Earth!
On top of the usual events and opportunities Disney World offers throughout the year, 2025 is bringing loads of construction and new attractions to the parks (or at least, laying the groundwork for them). If you’re taking a trip this year, make sure you’ve got these dates locked into your head to assist with your planning!
ONGOING Events
- March 5th – June 2nd: EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival
- Select dates January 6th to May 19th: Magic Kingdom After Hours events return — see full dates here!
- Select dates January 22nd to September 3rd: After Hours at Hollywood Studios return — see full dates here!
- Select dates February 27th through September 25th: EPCOT After Hours return — see the full dates here!
May 2025
Those famous “May Flowers” are still on display for the ongoing EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival. And, of course, Memorial Day Weekend ushers in the unofficial start of SUMMER!
- May 1st: Typhoon Lagoon Water Park reopens
- May 1st – 20th: Blizzard Beach Water Park is temporarily closed
- May 4th: May the 4th is Star Wars Day! Hollywood Studios is celebrating on the 4th — and beyond — with limited time treats!
- May 11th: Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano permanently closes in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to accommodate construction of a new Monsters, Inc. Land in the park. The final day to dine at Mama Melrose’s will be May 10th.
- May 21st: Minnie’s Summertime Dine begins at Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- May 21st: Blizzard Beach reopens; Typhoon Lagoon will also remain open, so BOTH Disney World Water Parks will remain open through the summer
- May 27th: “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” show OPENS in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
- May 27th: Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After show OPENS in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
June 2025
Summer break is ON in June in Walt Disney World! While you can expect rainstorms picking up for the summer season, you can also often anticipate extended hours in the parks to accommodate the increased crowd levels. Let’s see what June of 2025 specifically has on the docket:
- June 4th: Opening Date for GEO-82 — a new Adults-Only Spaceship Earth Lounge in EPCOT!
- June 8th: Muppet*Vision 3D permanently closes in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to accommodate construction of a new Monsters, Inc. Land in the park. The final day to experience the attraction will be June 7th.
- June 8th: PizzeRizzo permanently closes in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to accommodate construction of a new Monsters, Inc. Land in the park. The final day to dine at PizzeRizzo will be June 7th.
August 2025
Surprise! August heralds in the beginning of AUTUMN to Walt Disney World (albeit, a little early ? ) with the arrival of fall decorations on Magic Kingdom’s Main Street, U.S.A. in preparation for the park’s Halloween celebrations! Additionally, the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival typically kicks off in August.
- August 9th: Minnie’s Halloween Dine begins at Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- August 29th-31st: Destination D23 Expo at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
November 2025
- November 14th & 15th: Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic
Without Exact Dates
There are also many new additions and events coming to Disney World in 2025 that we don’t have specific dates for just yet, but you still need to keep them on your radar!
- Spaceship Earth Lounge in EPCOT — Late Spring 2025
- Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge in Magic Kingdom — Late 2025
- Villains Show taking the former building that housed Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy in Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure opening in Hollywood Studios in Summer of 2025 (was originally fall 2024 and has been pushed)
- Test Track reopening in EPCOT with new look — Late Summer 2025
- Zootopia Show at Tree of Life Theater in Animal Kingdom
- Closure of Tom Sawyer Island and Liberty Square Riverboat to make way for construction on the Cars-themed land coming to Frontierland in Magic Kingdom — Early 2025

Coming Coming to Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, a new area themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Cars” will leave Radiator Springs and head to the wilderness with two new attractions including an off-road race.
- Additional EPCOT festival dates
- Construction begins on Villains Land in Magic Kingdom (began in late 2024, but could mean the closure of the Walt Disney World Railroad again)
