NEWS: A Classic Magic Kingdom Ride Is Reopening EARLY

Few things are more disappointing than getting to Disney World, only to realize that the attraction you’ve been looking forward to riding is CLOSED.

It happens more often than you might think — usually because the ride itself needs a little TLC. That’s been the case for an iconic Magic Kingdom ride as of late, but we’ve got good news because this ride is reopening EARLY!

SURPRISE! Peter Pan’s Flight will be reopening EARLY in Magic Kingdom following what was supposed to be a lengthy refurbishment — but it looks like the project didn’t take Disney quite as long as they had planned!

Peter Pan’s Flight will reopen on August 16th, 2024, about a week earlier than was originally scheduled. The ride originally closed for refurbishment on July 8th and was listed as closed on the Disney World calendar through August 21st. But, the updated Disney World website now shows Peter Pan’s Flight will reopen tomorrow morning with the rest of Magic Kingdom!

When the refurbishment initially started, Disney World put up temporary construction walls within the ride’s mostly visible queue exterior (likely to keep park visitors safe from fumes and debris) so we’ve not had a chance to see exactly what has been worked on during this refurbishment — but we’ll be checking it out and letting you know of any major changes once it’s officially back up and running.

Disney World often temporarily closes rides that are in need of refurbishment for a whole host of reasons. While they haven’t shared what exactly was going on with this attraction, it is one of the oldest in the park so it likely needs a little TLC from time to time. We’re happy to see that Peter Pan’s Flight will be reopening early, though!
