Tiana’s Bayou Adventure officially opens in the Magic Kingdom on June 28th.
For the past couple of weeks, Disney has been holding previews for Cast Members, the media, Disney Vacation Club members, and Annual Passholders. Today, June 18th, is an Annual Passholder preview day in Magic Kingdom. But things have hit a major snag.
Disney World Annual Passholders received push notifications in the Disney World App at about 12:45PM saying that today’s 1PM Virtual Queue enrollment will not be available.
Annual Passholders who had a park reservation for today but had not joined the 7AM queue, were greeted with this information in the app, saying that virtual queues are “closed” at this time. The ride is not running at the time of the writing of this post.
Disney World has not announced a cause for the cancelation today, so we don’t know if the ride is expected to be down for a lengthy amount of time and therefore the 7AM virtual queue boarding groups might take all day to work through. We will update this post with anything else we can confirm about this situation.

It’s just one thing after another.
Rode Tiana’s Monday, as a passholder. Got off the ride, looking for the souvenir photo folder that you guys mentioned. The shop at Tiana’s was closed, a cast member directed me to the photo shop on main street for assistance. They had no clue what I was talking about. I described what I saw on this site and they said it sounds cool! Asked them if I can come back after the official opening, they had no clue. So, I’m hoping I can without re riding the ride, because it will be almost impossible to ride without a ridiculous wait
We were in MK on Sat the 15th and Mon the 17th. Saturday afternoon/evening Tiana’s was totally closed with no water even flowing down the big drop. On Monday, Tiana’s appeared to be open most of the day for pass holders, but Pirates and Seven Dwarf’s were both down for at least half the day. I’ve been going to WDW multiple times a year for decades and I’ve never seen so many rides across all of the parks closed at once. Things aren’t looking good for Disney right now.
Close it long enough to FIX THE RIDE!
Yesterday, Tuesday 6/18, we two passholders drove from the Tampa area (a chore in itself!) to Epcot to collect our passholder magnets and try to get on the 1 PM call for Tiana— only to get the cancellation message as we exited Soarin’ at about 12:45, that the preview rides had been cancelled. We visited the Three Caballeros, rode Spaceship Earth– and left disappointed.
No Tiana for us until fall– when the weather is cooler and the RIDE IS FIXED!!
All the retheming $ and they can’t get mechanicals reliable on a water flume? This isn’t exactly their first flume rodeo, is it? Certainly not new tech. How long has that ride been around? 50 years? Did no one advise leadership that it’s worn out and needs a cash infusion to bring it around? Splash had problems, but one might expect Bob and Josh to make sure that this latest statement didn’t turn into an embarrassment. Oops… too late.
