Y’all…we’ve only spent a short amount of time in Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea, but we’ve seen some of the most amazing things we’ve ever seen in a theme park.
This new expansion has brought three new lands to the park and each land is highly imaginative, greatly detailed, and absolutely gorgeous. We’ve seen some ride technology that has blown our minds and we’ve had so much fun spotting all the little details in all of these lands. But there were some things that we saw that TOTALLY shocked us — in a good way.
Rapunzel’s Tower
We’re going to start with something that just blew our minds (okay, EVERYTHING blew our minds, but this like MORE than blew our minds, if you know what we mean). We walked into Rapunzel’s Forest, looked up at her tower, and SHE WAS THERE. Okay, we’ve seen Rapunzel’s tower in Magic Kingdom a million times, but this tower has an ACTUAL Rapunzel and you can’t convince us she isn’t real.

We are seriously about to go hunt down Flynn Rider to climb up and check on her.

Captain Hook Details
We were also taken aback when we walked into Peter Pan’s Never Land, AND WE SAW CAPTAIN HOOK’S SHIP, the Jolly Roger. Again, the amount of attention paid to detail on just this ship has us lifting our jaws up off the floor.
But it’s not just a prop. No, you can step foot on board one of the most famous pirate ships to have ever set sailed. But then we heard Hook’s voice. Excuse me, CHILLS. We had actual chills because it was like he was RIGHT THERE.
Looks like the Lost Kids took over!
This is such a fun area of Fantasy Springs!

We’re Trying Disney’s NEW Peter Pan Restaurant– Lookout Cookout!
The Rockwork
We never had “admire rockwork for hours” on our Disney list, but here we are. Y’all. The rockwork leading into Fantasy Springs from the new hotel is some of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen. You know how the Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom has animals cleverly carved into it? Well, the rockwork in Fantasy Springs has PRINCESSES CARVED INTO IT.
It’s subtle, but noticeable all at the same time. The artisans who created this piece deserve ALL the awards. It’s amazing.

Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure
Peter Pan’s Flight in Disney World and Disneyland is a classic attraction — and yes, we love it. But Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure is an example of just how seamlessly Disney can now integrate physical sets in rides with screens. This 3D ride is entirely screens and scenery, and although that shouldn’t work, it’s incredible.
The tech here just makes everything seem so real — the ride designers told us that special UV paint techniques were used to blend the screens and the sets, and yes, it works beautifully. We’ve never seen a 3D ride that looks just so natural. You can’t tell what’s screen and what’s set. It’s incredible.
WE JUST FLEW Over Never Land on Disney’s NEW Peter Pan Ride!
Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey
We’re just going to say that Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey could be the best theme park best ride ever. There, we said it. First, the queue has a level of detail that goes way above and beyond to make you feel like you’re stepping into Arendelle Castle and seeing a real lived-in castle. Then, the ride itself blends music, effects, and animatronics to create a story that is so immersive, you’ll swear you were there. Prepare to cry…a lot.
But what really blew our minds were the animatronics. These are some of the best animatronics we’ve ever seen. They move so fluidly and just seem like they are REAL. But it’s not just the main characters who have great animatronics. Even the citizens of Arendelle and other background characters have the same technology so that each scene just comes to life. We’re still not over this ride, y’all.
