Being a Disney World Annual Passholder comes with plenty of perks that make it all worth it!
You get access to the theme parks, free parking, exclusive events, merchandise, discounts, and oh yeah — FREE souvenirs. Chances are you’ve seen a Disney World Annual Passholder magnet when you’ve been on the road or maybe you even have one on your own car. And, while I love collecting these little freebies, I need to warn you about a PROBLEM you’re not expecting.
Whether or not you’re a Disney World Annual Passholder, chances are you’ve seen those character magnets that people often put on their cars. It’s Disney’s little way of thanking people for being passholders, and people will often wait in some pretty long lines to get them when they’re released in the parks. Disney even sometimes rolls out a virtual queue if they think the demand will be high enough!
But, I made a terrible mistake with a passholder magnet and I’m warning you not to do the same. As a person who drives an all-black car with black leather seats in Florida, I’ve become accustomed to just how dangerously hot it can get in the summer. So, I probably should have predicted that putting a plasticky vinyl magnet on my car was probably not the wisest decision. I was just so dang excited to finally be a passholder and join the club that I couldn’t help myself.
And so, there Minnie Mouse sat, on the side of my car for a while. Until one day, for whatever reason, I decided to try and peel it off. It’s a magnet, right? It should come off pretty easily — except it didn’t. Instead, it looked like the magnet or the adhesive from it had basically fused to my car and left a pretty bad mark. See it for yourself!
To be completely honest, I haven’t really attempted that hard to get it off, but I’d imagine some Goo Gone and patience would make it happen. But, I have washed my car multiple times since I took the magnet off and the mark is still there, so it isn’t just dirt.
This is definitely something to keep in mind if you’re a passholder with a magnet on your car (or maybe just if you’re like me and drive a black-on-black car in Central Florida…) Consider keeping yours on your fridge or somewhere else where it can’t do quite as much damage!

I tried to wash my Wife’s card and around the maget was gross.
So I tried to peel it off. And peel I did. It completely messed it up cause the magnet material they use has gotten so low quality.
We usually just keep them on the fridge.
It’s just as bad on white cars too!! My husband has 3 stuck to the back of his white truck!! I change mine more, so mine just covers little scratches I have! White suv. Most of them are on my back door, inside. We got a new fridge and I found out my back door was magnetic. So, with all the magnets we have collected, I made a big Mickey ice-cream on it!! It’s getting fuller but……
I don’t’ have a magnet-on-the-car story, but I was in Florida in February and I got the Hei-Hei magnet. The smart thing to do would have been to put it into my suitcase as soon as I got back to my room, but did I? Of course not. I stuck it to the metal door in my room, thinking that I’d see it every day of my vacation and would therefore remember to take it home with me, but did I? Of course not. I left it behind in my room when I checked out and didn’t remember until a couple days later. I was particularly annoyed with myself because I live in Massachusetts and I can only get the Passholder Magnets when they happen to coincide with one of my trips. The good news is I will be at Disney World in May when the next one drops, and I will definitely be putting it into my suitcase the day I get it!
I used to do the same thing until little sticky fingers swiped a few off of my car in the parking lot AT Walt Disney world! So they now reside on my fridge!
