If you’ve been a DFB reader for any significant length of time, you know just how strong our opinions on Disney World pizza are.
And if you’re new around here — just know that not all Disney World pizza is created equally. Some pizza is worth singing about from the mountaintops, while other slices belong in the bottom of the trash. All those years of trash-talking must have finally caught up with us because we’ve officially been sent a cease-and-desist order.
Welp, we’ve done it now. We seem to be in a bit of a pickle thanks to our particularly passionate pizza preferences — specifically as they pertain to the puffy variety! You see, there are tons of different types of pizzas in Disney World, from flatbreads to New York Style slices to one that’s a half-meter in length and more. But, it’s our opinion of puffy pizza that’s gotten us into trouble this time around.
Puffy pizza can be found at quick-service spots like Pizzafari in Animal Kingdom, Pizzerizzo and Catalina Eddie’s in Hollywood Studios, and some locations around the hotels. As you might have guessed, this pizza is pillowy, doughy, and overall just really puffy — and it’s not our favorite. We just find it to be a little too thick, bready, and chewy, often with not enough toppings.
And, apparently, that’s a problem for some people. We have officially received a cease and desist notice from the Sheriff of the Puffy Pizza Promotion and Protection Police, Puff. E. I. It was addressed to AJ, our “Supreme Overlord” along with the rest of us “Evil DFB Accomplices,” and shamed us for “maliciously spreading inaccurate and unfounded information that is damaging to this delightful food’s dignity and reputation.”
We were admonished for our “bad taste in yummy foods” and were warned that our failure to comply would result in hurting Rizzo the Rat’s feelings — he’s the proprietor of the puffy pizza parlor, Pizzerizzo, in Hollywood Studios. Of course, we would be devastated to learn we had, in fact, hurt poor Rizzo’s feelings.
So, you know what? The Sheriff is right! Puffy pizza absolutely has its place in this world — especially in Disney World. We’re not out to yuck anyone else’s yum, but we do want to manage expectations around here. Puffy pizza can be great for kiddos and picky eaters, and heck — sometimes you just want something simple and comforting, which puffy pizza totally is for folks.
If you’re looking for pizza that’s a bit…elevated in flavor profile and terms of ingredients, consider checking out Via Napoli or Connections Eatery at EPCOT, Pizza Ponte in Disney Springs, and Trattoria al Forno at the BoardWalk! We’ve also been enjoying the flatbreads we’ve had at Pinocchio Village Haus in Magic Kingdom lately.
To Rizzo the Rat and all those who feel passionate about their love of puffy pizza — consider this our formal apology. Justice for all pizza! (And a HUGE thank you to the DFB supporters who took the time out of their day to create this letter and give us all a much-needed laugh around here! We appreciate you!!!)

70% certain Puff E.I. is a muppet. Could be a fellow rat. No hate, the muppet rat community is strong and resilient!
You’re welcome! Now hands off my delicious puffy pizza!! ?
Too funny! Next, you’ll get a letter about your complaints about toilet paper.
That was rather delightful.
I kind of enjoy puffy pizza, I just wish Rizzo (and others) realized that the crust is not meant to make up 75% of the pizza. You’re missing great sausage real estate there!!
Cute ?
Puff E. I. well stated

There is room for all of we Disney Pizza lovers…we need more love in the world.
This made my day – put a smile on my face.
I actually prefer the puffy pizza to the flatbread at the Village Haus, which tends to be too dry and overcooked.
Gotta send this quickly because my shift at Pizza Planet begins soon. I’m in the Chiss Ascendancy this week.
I love this.
I had the pizza at trails end last night and my niece described it as school pizza. And I think that is right. The bottom crust is lightly flavored cardboard.
I was glad it was cheap and it was something to eat after a long day. But it wasn’t great.
Honestly, what I love about puffy pizza is just that: The puffiness. The chewiness. The crust bubbles.
To me, the crust and sauce matter more than the toppings. Thin-crust pizza has all the excitement and delectableness of corrugated cardboard, while deep-dish pizza is generally too hard and crunchy and thick and heavy without much of the delightful chewiness that puffy pizza provides.
It’s just me. I know. ??♂️ Still, keep the puffy pizza coming!
