If you’re planning a Disney World vacation for this fall, we’ve got some important info to share!
If you’re excited to soak up all of the Halloween vibes of the season, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party might be on your must-do list for your fall trip. The party is a seasonal event held on select nights at Magic Kingdom, and guests have to purchase a separate ticket for the event. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party includes exclusive snacks, entertainment, trick-or-treating, and more. But what if things don’t exactly go according to plan?
The exclusive entertainment is a major selling point of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. In previous years, we’ve seen fan-favorites like the Boo-To-You Parade, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage show, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show, and more.
But as much as we love all of the (no-so) spooky fun, there is one downside to the party entertainment — if you attend the party on a night with bad weather, some of the events could be delayed, or even canceled altogether.
It’s even happened to us before! While we were at a past year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a big storm rolled through. Because of the weather, the first Boo-to-You Parade got rained out, the fireworks show was delayed, and one of the Hocus Pocus shows was also delayed.
Schedule changes like this can be a bummer, especially if it means you end up missing one or more of the major events. If this happens to you, are you just out of luck?? Not exactly — there’s a way you might be able to fix it!
If you’re at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or another after hours event and some of the entertainment is canceled due to weather, Disney might offer you a “rain check.” If you do find yourself in this situation, head to a Guest Relations desk and ask about the possibility of a rain check — they may be able to give you a new party ticket for another night as compensation.
When the bad weather impacted the entertainment at the party we attended, Disney was offering rain checks on a case-by-case basis. In our case, one parade showing was canceled and there were delays for the fireworks and stage show, but since all three events did happen at some point during the night, rain checks weren’t guaranteed for everyone.
The Guest Relations Cast Member we spoke with at the time told us that they weren’t providing refunds for the event, but guests could receive comped tickets, which were good for 1-day park admission, or any available Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party that year.
If you run into a similar situation where bad weather causes entertainment delays or cancellations during the Halloween party you’re attending, be sure to check with Guest Relations to see if they can help out. Just remember that politeness goes a long way, so be kind when you’re speaking with Cast Members!
We’ll be on the lookout for news about this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to drop, so stay tuned to DFB to make sure you don’t miss out on any important updates!

Cancellations of parades and ride closures because of rain happened to us in September at MNSSHP. We didn’t think to ask about a rain check until the next day. We were told if we had asked the night before, before we left the park, rain checks could have been issued but we were unable to get them because we waited a day. We’ll know better next time!
