Here’s What You’ll Find in the Disney World Skyliner Emergency Kits

The Disney World Skyliner gondolas are a fan-favorite form of Disney World transportation.

As we hop around Disney World every day, we love it when our route can include the Skyliner. It’s honestly the BEST ride you can go on at Disney World without a park ticket, right?

But we are reminded all the time that at Disney World, safety takes first priority. So have you ever wondered what happens if there is an emergency on the Skyliner?

You can expect the Skyliner to close in the event of inclement weather, which can certainly be inconvenient and mess up your day a little, but is necessary for safety. However, while very rare, we have seen passengers be stuck on the Skyliner for long periods of time occasionally. And if this happened to you, you might feel better to know there are things to help you on board.

Emergency Call Button

First off, you’ve probably noticed that every Skyliner has an emergency call button that you can use to contact crews on the ground if something is going wrong in your gondola. There’s also an emergency kit under the Skyliner benches on each vehicle.

The emergency kits include the following:

Cold packs
Bathroom bags
Water
Notepads
Whistle
Glow stick
Cups

In October 2019, some guests were stranded on the Skyliner for about three hours and were instructed to use the items in the emergency kit. And in April 2021, two Skyliner gondolas collided, causing a shutdown and guests to be stuck in their vehicles for more than an hour — again. Disney advised them to use the items in the kit.

Again, safety is a priority for Disney, and problems that could potentially strand you on the Skyliner are exceedingly rare.
