Quick! Go stand next to a fan — things are going to get heated. We’re asking a question long-debated among Disney World fans, and it could spark some intense debate.

Spaceship Earth
Buckle up, we’re asking our readers: Which is the BEST method of transportation in Disney World? Do you prefer the new but lighting-averse Skyliner? Are you team ol’ reliable, a.k.a. the bus? Maybe you like the wind in your hair as you sail on a boat? Or maybe you’re a purist, and you love the iconic Disney World monorail? OK, it’s time to see which Disney transportation method comes out on top.
Oh, and we can already hear some people asking, “What about my car?” or “What about walking?” but guess what? We’re not counting those. We’re talking strictly about Disney World’s FREE, Disney-created, Disney-operated services that are accessible to EVERYONE. OK? We can’t muddle the results with things like cars and rideshare services because those won’t work for everyone. We gotta keep it fair!

Disney Skyliner
At first, the Skyliner and the monorail seemed like the clear frontrunners, but could the boat or bus pull ahead?

Now, for the moment that we’ve all been waiting for. The winner is (*drumroll*)…
…the Skyliner! Surprised? Clearly, people LOVE the Skyliner. It certainly makes it WAY easier to get to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney World Skyliner
On one hand, it’s pretty interesting that the Skyliner is so popular, considering it shuts down whenever inclement weather is in the area. During hurricane season, closures can happen pretty often! Sure, it runs continuously, but when bad weather is a factor, the Skyliner can be a bit unpredictable. Nevertheless, it was the clear winner among DFB readers!

Closed Skyliner
So, why do people love the Skyliner so much? Well, it’s fast, efficient, and FUN! Unlike the noisy bus and comparatively slow boats, the Skyliner soars through the air without any traffic or delays to deal with. It basically never stops moving (unless it’s closed, that is).

We LOVE the Skyliner!
Plus, the Skyliner is a hit with kids! We’ve even seen some families make special requests for a certain Skyliner gondola — who wouldn’t want to ride in an Ecanto-themed cabin, right?

Encanto!
Of course, we also have to give a shoutout to the monorail. After all this time, people still clearly love it! If you’re trying to hop from Magic Kingdom to EPCOT or want easy access to your Magic Kingdom-area hotel, this is a GREAT option.

Hello from the Monorail!

As we now visit in August (rather than December) the chance of bad weather is higher, meaning the monorail and Skyliner can be out of action. We hate the bus, and try to avoid boats, so it’s a hire car for us, but use the monorail from TTC early mornings.
I wonder if people fully considering that you are 100% guaranteed a seat on the skyliner vs standing on the monorail. As an adult male I don’t even attempt to sit on the monorail.
We vote for boats…we think of them as a fun ride where we can go when we want; no reservations, lines are very reasonable, and they don’t feel as cramped as the sardine -packed buses.
We really like the skyliner. The skyliner is a reason we stay at Pop Century it is so convenient. My husband uses an ECV and the cast members are so courteous to him on getting on and off. We also have to ride the monorail. It is a must. We use it to visit the Contemporary Resort.
Transportation has never been a problem. You are on vacation relax. Someone will get you home. ?
