Have you ever wondered how Disney determines the Genie+ prices per day?
Well, we noticed something about the prices while in the parks recently that might shed a bit of insight into how the virtual planning assistant is priced.
While we were in the parks last week, days before Thanksgiving, we saw Genie+ hit the highest price we’ve seen in a long time. On Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving, the Genie+ Multiple Parks and Magic Kingdom options hit $35 and eventually sold out later in the day (on Monday).
But now, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, the prices have seemingly gone back to normal. The Multiple Parks and Magic Kingdom options were showing $25 each while EPCOT was $18, Disney’s Hollywood Studios was $22, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom was $26.
That is a $10 DROP in price in a matter of days! Remember, Genie+ is part of the My Disney Experience app and is a paid service that allows you to get Disney’s version of skip-the-line passes– Lightning Lanes. You can pay for it each day you’re in the park or add it to your tickets when you purchase them. When you use Genie+ you also have access to PhotoPass for attractions and Audio Tales.
We’ll be keeping our eyes on Genie+ as we get nearer the holidays! In the meantime, keep following DFB for more Disney updates.

WOW, Disney lowered the price of the Genie Plus from $35 the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving and they were sold out to $25 the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I ask again, WHAT DOES SOLD OUT MEAN FOR THE GENIE PLUS OR THE PARK RESERVATIONS? What is that number of people? My family and I have been in the Magic Kingdom on the Fourth Of July and during Christmas Week. We had the free Fast Pass, no Genie Plus or Individual Attraction. The Magic Kingdom WAS NOT SOLD OUT. Disney please come up with a better reason to justify the cost and the inconvenience of the terrible changes you have made as a result of the Pandemic.
