When’s the last time you’ve been to Magic Kingdom?
With all that there is to see and do at Magic Kingdom, we wanted to find out what your thoughts were about which change you were MOST looking forward to. We asked and boy, did you deliver!
We reached out to our followers on Facebook to ask: “Do you rope drop Magic Kingdom?” The results were pretty varied. We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!
Now, let’s dive into the results!
1. Always Rope Drop
It looks like we have a majority! More than half of you say you always rope drop (56% of you based on the responses).
You can feel the enthusiasm when one of you mentioned, “Absolutely. Did it a couple of weeks ago. First ride was Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. it was posted 40 minutes wait. it was a 9-minute wait. (I timed it.) Went on it three times in a row, then did Thunder Mountain two times in a row. All that before 10am. Rope drop benefits!”
2. Never Rope Drop
In second place, we found out that some of you NEVER rope drop (23% of you based on the responses).
These two responses sum up those feelings perfectly: “Nope. We sleep in and stay till close” and “Nope. We eat breakfast then just walk over to MK whenever.”
3. Sometimes Rope Drop
In last place, we found that some of you will sometimes rope drop (21% of you based on the responses)
There were a number of “Sometimes” in the responses, but I think this comment sums it up best: “Depends where I have breakfast reservations.”
Those were just some of your thoughts on rope-dropping Magic Kingdom and we’d love to find out more from you! Until then, watch our video on NEW ways to save money at Disney World right here!

Do you rope drop Magic Kingdom? Let us know below!
We used to rope drop every single day of every single trip. No longer rope drop – ever! Worst crowds of the day. Why get up early to stand in line for over an hour at the turnstiles in order to save standing in line 45 minutes at 7 Dwarfs and 15 minutes at Big Thunder? We now have a fairly leisurely morning and come in about 15 minutes after park opens.
I never rope drop – too many people! I do like getting breakfast reservations before park opening once in a while or taking a behind-the scenes tour early in the morning. But the crowds at the front entrance at rope drop are just too much.
