“What do you want for dinner?” It’s a seemingly mundane and innocent question, but if you’re like us, you know just how difficult that decision really can be. Here’s the thing: It only gets WORSE when you’re at Disney World!

Brown Derby Lounge Spread
In Disney’s Hollywood Studios alone, there are THIRTY restaurants. How in the world are you supposed to decide where to eat?? Luckily, we’ve been to every single one of them several times and tried a ton of the menu items at each one, so we can tell you exactly which ones are worth your time, stomach space, and money.
At Disney World, there are a few different kinds of restaurants. You’ve got table service (sit-down) restaurants, which are typically more expensive, but the food is fancier and you’ll probably get a nice long break inside with some air conditioning.

The Hollywood Brown Derby
Then there are quick service (fast food) spots, which are faster and cheaper, but sometimes the seating situation isn’t ideal — especially when it’s super hot outside.

Good luck finding a seat here
Finally, there are snack stands, which offer fun bites but frequently have limited menus.

Epic Eats Snack Stand
In this post, we’re going to take a look at each kind of restaurant and tell you exactly where to go during your Hollywood Studios day.
Table Service
Hollywood Brown Derby
Our choice for the best table service meal in Hollywood Studios goes to the iconic Hollywood Brown Derby. This is one of the most delicious and historic dining experiences in all of Disney World. It’s a replica of the famous Hollywood restaurant, and it’s also the signature restaurant of Hollywood Studios. Reservations fill up quickly for this spot, so get yours as soona as possible if you want ’em!

The Hollywood Brown Derby
As a signature restaurant, Hollywood Brown Derby is on the pricier side. It’s also a fairly heavy meal, which might be a mistake if you’re planning to ride a bunch of roller coasters right after. However, it’s a fancy and romantic restaurant with old Hollywood vibes, and the food is consistently top-notch.

Braised Short Rib
Note that the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge is a good option if you can’t get those reservations — it accepts walk-up guests and has many of the same classic menu items as the full restaurant.

The famous Cobb Salad
Some of our favorite eats here include the Famous Cobb Salad, Free-Range Chicken à la King, and Grapefruit Cake.

Honorable Mention: 50’s Prime Time
This restaurant didn’t make our top spot because the food isn’t quite as good as Hollywood Brown Derby, but it’s still decent and the atmosphere is super fun!

50’s Prime Time Cafe
You know when you’re home for a family reunion and you’re surrounded by cousins and relatives and your mom and grandma are both shouting at you to eat your veggies and get your elbows off the table? Those are the vibes that 50’s Prime Time Café strives for. The dining rooms at this spot sets of 1950s-style kitchens, complete with little black-and-white TVs that show mid-century shows.

50’s Prime Time Cafe
The menu consists of comfort food like fried chicken, meatloaf, and pot roast. The food is good and reasonably priced, and the unique atmosphere makes this a great choice for lunch or dinner. However, the meal can take a long time (you may not want to sacrifice your time in the park for it), and the interactive environment could be an introvert’s nightmare.

Our Spread from 50s Prime Time Cafe
If you do come here, GET A MILKSHAKE. You won’t regret it.

Honorable Mention: Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater
There’s another uniquely themed restaurant in Hollywood Studios: the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater! This restaurant’s dining room is designed to look like a drive-in theater.

Sci-Fi Dine In
You’ll sit in a car-shaped booth while you watch short (and cheesy) sci-fi clips on the big screen. Don’t worry about the rain — this drive-in is indoors.

Sci Fi Dine-In at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
The food here is mostly burgers, shakes, and fries (think diner food), and it’s decent. You also get pretty hearty portions, which is great if you’re hungry but not-so-great if you’re going to ride lots of roller coasters right after.

Feature Film Burger — Surf and Turf at Sci-Fi Dine-InTheater
The main reason for visiting is definitely the unique theming, and we think kids especially will love it!

Counter Service
Woody’s Lunch Box (Mobile Order Available)
There’s just one quick service restaurant in Toy Story Land: Woody’s Lunch Box. (Now there’s a table service restaurant as well, called Roundup Rodeo BBQ, which also has decent food and really fun theming!)

Woody’s Lunch Box
Woody’s Lunch Box literally looks like a giant lunch box (go figure), and the only options for seating are outdoor tables with umbrellas. If you’re lucky, you might get to sit on a giant Babybel cheese! (Disney partnered with Mini Babybel for this restaurant.)

It can be tricky finding a seat here
Some good options on the menu here are the Totchos (nachos but with tater tots), BBQ Brisket Melt, and Lunch Box Tarts.

“Totchos”
Those tarts might just look like fancy pop tarts (and OK, maybe that’s exactly what they are), but lots of people love ’em all the same! On a cool day, you can’t go wrong with a grilled cheese and tomato soup here, either.

Ronto Roasters (Mobile Order Available)
Now introducing Ronto Roasters! When you walk into the restaurant area, you’ll see a pitmaster droid busy at work turning a mechanical spit to cook up your meal.

Ronto Roasters
Seating is all outdoors here (the whole restaurant is open-air), and there aren’t a ton of tables, so it can be tricky to get a seat during busy times. However, most of the tables are under a roof to keep the rain or sun off.

Ronto Roasters Seating
Ronto Roasters has very few menu options, but what’s on there is GOOD. The Ronto Wrap is one of our favorite things to eat in this park, and the breakfast version (the Ronto Morning Wrap) is super popular as well. And don’t ignore the plant-based Zuchii Wrap either!

Ronto Wrap
This might not be the best place for very picky eaters or little kids (as there isn’t much to choose from on the menu besides those wraps), but the eats aren’t so bizarre that they would scare off most eaters.
Check out our recent reviews of Ronto Roasters here!
Honorable Mention: Docking Bay 7 (Mobile Order Available)
We’d be lying to you if we didn’t admit that a significant reason for our mentioning Docking Bay 7 is because this is where you can get a Ronto Wrap after Ronto Roasters closes at 3PM. They’re not available here before 3PM, but once Ronto Roasters is closed, they’re on the menu.

Docking Bay 7
However, this spot has some unique and tasty eats, too! The Fried Endorian Chicken Tip Yip is a safe option (it’s just fried chicken), and we also enjoy the Topato Stir-Fry and Roasted Endorian Chicken Salad.

Full Spread
Another pro is that there’s a lot of indoor seating available, so it’s great for a particularly hot day.

Snacks
Oga’s Cantina
OK, so here’s the thing. We have to admit right off the bat that Oga’s Cantina just might be a *little bit* overrated. Although the drinks and eats leave something to be desired, we have to include it on this list because the theming is INCREDIBLE and, for Star Wars fans, it’s just an iconic location.

The bar at Oga’s Cantina
You’ll need a reservation to dine here, and you’re under a 45-minute time limit once you go inside. Reservations can be hard to get, so make sure you’re ready to book as soon as they become available (60 days before your trip).

Fuzzy TaunTaun
Make sure to try the Fuzzy Tauntaun (for the 21+ crowd) and the non-alcoholic Blue Bantha! We recommend skipping the eats here — there are only a couple of snack options, and neither has impressed us in the past.
Check out our recent reviews of Oga’s Cantina here!
BaseLine Tap House
BaseLine Tap House is another bar/lounge in Hollywood Studios, but it’s very different from Oga’s Cantina. For one thing, the theming here isn’t quite so in-your-face. And for another, the snacks on the menu are WAY better. (We like to give you both options — Oga’s Cantina is great for Star Wars fans and anyone looking for fun theming, but you should pick BaseLine if you want legitimately incredible snacks and drinks.)

BaseLine Tap House
This is a good place to grab a beer, and don’t forget to try the charcuterie board or the Bavarian Pretzel (with beer cheese fondue!). That pretzel tastes 10x better than a Mickey Pretzel. There. We said it.

The full spread
There’s some indoor seating, but there’s quite a bit more outside. And while this is a great spot to hang out with some adult friends, it doesn’t have the most kid-friendly menu (unless your kids love charcuterie and spiced almonds?).
