We’ve got some bad news for anyone headed to Disney Springs. The beloved Gideon’s Bakehouse shop is one of the most popular spots in Disney Springs — some people make a special trip JUST to go to Gideon’s! But recently, the bakery has been experiencing some issues.

If you were hoping to try the new September seasonal flavors at Gideon’s, you might have to wait a little while longer. Here’s the situation.
Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs is known for its HUGE cookies and LONG lines. People wait hours just to get ahold of Gideon’s treats.

But recently, Gideon’s Bakehouse shared that the bakery is temporarily closed. On August 31st, the bakery shared an announcement reading, “Gideon’s at Disney Springs is temporarily closed until we can get a handle on the AC issue.”

Then, on September 1st, Gideon’s Bakehouse shared an update indicating that the store is still temporarily closed.

Gideon’s Bakehouse remained closed on Saturday, September 2nd, but hopes to be open by Sunday, September 3rd. An update was posted on Instagram indicating that the repairs were not yet complete, but should be soon.

While announcing the new seasonal flavors for September, Gideon’s Bakehouse noted, “I’m extremely saddened to say that Gideon’s at Disney Springs is closed [September 1st] as we scramble to replace a brand-new AC unit. Please see my stories for details and updates.“
The store is too hot to operate!

Every time I walk past that long line I want to tell people to not waste their time. They are way over-priced and don’t taste like they’re fully cooked. We purchased several types and were disappointed in all of them. I know I’m in the minority but yuk!
One of the best cookies I ever ate – I LOVE that they are not crunchy but are perfectly cooked all the way through – perfect consistency throughout – and the flavor additions are amazing!
