DATE ANNOUNCED: Carrie Fisher Will Be Honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Star Wars fans rejoice! The Force is strong with this news!

With May the 4th coming up and the excitement from Star Wars Celebration staying strong, we wanted to share the latest tribute for one of the galaxy’s biggest stars.

Ever since the first moment she appeared onscreen in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, Carrie Fisher has been a Star Wars legend.

We just heard from Variety that Fisher is going to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this coming May 4th (on Star Wars Day — how fitting!). Carrie Fisher was on the list of 2022 honorees.

Not only is she getting a star, but her star will be very close to her mother, Debbie Reynolds’s, star.

EW reported that Fisher’s co-star Mark Hamill was awarded a star on the Walk in 2018, but the rule is that there is a five-year wait for a star to be awarded posthumously. Since Fisher passed away in 2016, she was not eligible at the time.
