It is a good time to be a Moana fan.
Not only is a live-action Moana movie in the works, but the Hei Hei Cone has returned to Typhoon Lagoon, as well as a Moana cone. Also, work is coming right along with the Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana attraction in EPCOT, and we’ve got the latest update on that!
Things were starting to look green the last time we shared an update on construction.
Since then, though, things are starting to look even more put together — so many more features have been added over the past month or so!
There are SO many trees — we’re pretty excited about the fact that this is going to be a great area to wander around on those hot Florida days — all that shade!
Things are looking so lush, but Disney DID describe the attraction as having a “lush exploration trail.” We’re also really seeing the features coming together.
Disney CEO Bob Iger also recently shared some footage from INSIDE the attraction and we got a really good up-close look at the giant Te-Fiti there.
We also got a look at some shelters and rock formations of the walkthrough attraction.
Most recently, we also got a video update on one of the waterfalls in the attraction — and it was working! This attraction is going to be VERY chill and relaxing. We can’t wait to escape from the noise of the park and visit this attraction that will take us through the cycle of water.

We even now have an opening timeline, too — Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana is set to open in the fall of 2023. Of course, we don’t have anything more specific than that, but seeing the progress makes us think it’s getting close to being completed.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on construction progress and share any and all photos and details we can get. So stay tuned to DFB for more.

I wish I could get excited about this but I just can’t. Seems like a waste of space to me. I miss that wonderful Fountain of Nations.
